Either way, America loses.
I wouldn’t agree with this. One option is CLEARLY worse than the other. And it’s not even a hypothetical scenario... you just have to look out the window or into your own living room and see how the current state of affairs compares to any recent democrat government.

Quite obnoxious, and for so long. Worse than my short-lived side character Hyperbolic. And far less funny.

Re: 2020 US Racial/Political Protests and Riots

I think it’s shameful to focus on the looting. Considering the dimension and seriousness of the issues at hand, driving the discussion towards looting is absolutely shameful.

Re: 2020 US Racial/Political Protests and Riots

I don't think any real improvement for minority communities should be expected from politicians who aren't on the left side of the spectrum. Obama wasn't and Biden isn't, despite what Fox News say. They're only not as right-leaning as others. They are still stalwarts of the neo-liberal model, which ...

Re: 2020 US Racial/Political Protests and Riots

We’re going to clamp down very, very strong. The word is dominate. If you don’t dominate your city and your state, they’re going to walk away with you. And we’re doing it in Washington, in DC, we’re going to do something that people haven’t seen before... but we’re going to have total domination Th...

Re: 2020 US Racial/Political Protests and Riots

There's also that thing about the sitting president being a corrupt, textbook narcissist piece of shit that Republicans in the senate united to protect from full impeachment, despite clear evidence of wrongdoing. When it's obvious that "democracy" no longer exists, the masses start to get a little ...

Re: Coronavirus

One disgusting problem we have in Chile is that once the public system collapses (which is pretty much... now, or in a week's time), patients would have to be sent to private clinics, which charge the state an outrageous amount of money. These people's respect for the rules set out in stone collapse...

I hope it’ll heal properly, mate. I don’t think you should’ve waited THAT long, but it doesn’t surprise me that you didn’t want to bother professionals who are dealing with that other little emergency...

And I can also testify that your NHS is beautiful. Don’t let those twats shred it to pieces.

Re: Coronavirus

I'm very concerned about police-overreach, a turn to fascism, etc., especially after the pandemic ends. Most of the powers come from emergency orders, so the assumption is that it won't continue. But it's not impossible that legislators start reworking permanent laws about contact-tracing, isolatio...

Re: Coronavirus

You visit an 'online police station', select why you want/need to go out (e.g., to buy groceries or medicine, to walk your dog, to have a walk with a disabled person, to go to the doctors, to a funeral, etc.), wait about 10-15 minutes and get it in your e-mail. Or you can also go to your closest pol...

Re: Coronavirus

What does "lockdown" amount to in Chile? Up here in Canada, since mid-March the provinces have pretty much shut everything except grocery stores, restaurant-delivery, and essential services down for like two months, banned gatherings of more than five people (including in homes). They even stopped ...

Re: Coronavirus

In Chile, we've just gone from about 300 new cases per day (which was complete bullshit official numbers) to over 2,000 new cases per day. There's a total lockdown for Santiago starting tomorrow. A collapse of the healthcare system is predicted for probably the last week of May and/or first week of ...

Re: IG Live

There is no way in this world that any band can tour with Jane’s Addiction. Not even Jane’s members can tour with Jane’s Addiction without breaking up.

Unless you mean like 5 dates, which I’d imagine both bands can tolerate.

Re: IG Live

Yeah, I was thinking that there has to be a business model or plan based on projections somewhere, right. I mean a band or performer must know where there market is. How in the world can JA be playing a 1/2 empty bball court. I mean, seriously....who got fired? It must've been near Lollapalooza in ...

Re: IG Live

The last time they played in Buenos Aires it was embarrassing. They were going to play in a place for around 5,000 people, they sold an extremely low number of tickets, so they had to change the venue to a fucking basketball court. Even then, it was about half full at best and the doors were just op...

So I watched " The Art of Racing in the Rain" the other night.
As someone with a 13 year old dog and who has been on the shit end of a custody dispute, I will 100% never recommend that movie to anyone.
