Re: 2 Students Put Rat Poison in Teacher’s Water

I don't think any of the examples of acting out provided in this thread are comparable to putting poison in someone's drink. The fact that the boys wanted to see what would happen indicates that they were aware of the possibility that something would happen. I think they understand that rat poison ...

Re: 2 Students Put Rat Poison in Teacher’s Water

Why not give those two students water with some rat poison and see the reaction. I'm not being serious, but really like Chaos said what if the teacher died. At some point people need to understand there are consequences for their actions. If not how far do they keep pushing the envelop to see what t...

Re: The Cost to Book Jane's Addiction

I guess I won't be booking JA for my 50th birthday bash in 2017... I'm surprised to see creed in the $100K+ list. At that point they will be a lot less, so you never know. $100k really isn''t much, how much can they each make off that? Off managers take their fee and others, through in taxes.

science. Feelings of aggression after playing video games are more likely to be linked to gameplay mechanics rather than violent content, a study suggests. http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-26921743 just make video games easier. all the worlds violence disappears. :eyes: anyone advocating banning ...

[quote="Pure Method"]LFJ, what's the difference? the government is making the decision either way: Either the government permits large soda drinks or the the government prohibits them. Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

LJF, did you even read my last post? I said "let's assume you're right". So it doesn't matter whether people are able to make these magical choices you think they can or not. Even if they can, we can ask why they aren't. And the answer can't be "because they choose not to", because that doesn't exp...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

Here is an article for you A.S. that will make you happy, but to me it doesn't change my opinion. It's just more of the blame game. They blame the stress of their lives, which I no doubt believe they have, as a reason they smoke more in low income areas. So are they saying that some how there isn't ...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

I genuinely find your intuitions on this interesting. At least you admit that for some people the magical power of choice may be harder. I wish I could find the right set of data and argument to convince you that this capacity isn't real, but I'll give in for now. I can't figure out how my last pos...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

There is the difference between us, you blame others and I say it's up to you, you control it. One can always play the victim, but it won't get you very far. Nothing will change until people realize they control themselves. Marketers or whatever love it when people buy into their ads and think like ...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/25/health/smoking-stays-stubbornly-high-among-the-poor.html?_r=0 This growing gap in smoking rates between rich and poor is helping drive inequality in health outcomes, experts say, with, for example, white women on the lowest rungs of the economic ladder now living s...

I clearly haven't been named as spokesperson for any group, although I do get the feeling that A.S. would like me to speak for him. Now you have me thinking, if I think of mysel...

Re: perry and etty's new video

there is no denying that Perry was once a great artist, but it seems that time passed in the late 90s. He was clearly influenced by his women and his drugs. Youth also probably had something to do with it. As he got older his interests have changes and he probably is more concerned with his celebrit...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

Enough is enough?.....concluding smokers don't deserve health care, any health care (even if by one dilettante physician) even that is non cardio or pulmonary related because they smell, litter, and pollute the virtuous with second hand smoke is punitive and borders on scapegoating. The smoking popu...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

I'm still in awe that this doesn't give thin non smoking patients serious pause. Yeah, but if they think like LJF, then the justification (psychologically, but not morally) is: "He's still an excellent doctor for me." The interesting thing about it is that while I think that that line of reasoning ...

Re: Doctor refusing to treat smokers & obese people

I think that's a bit unfair. Class warfare is far from being a doctor's fault. If you're going to point fingers, they should be aimed at those responsible for the current economic model, which pushes poor people into being fat and smoking and which guides doctors into not providing services to poor...

I believe this, people need to be responsible for their actions, stop blaming others, less government, class warfare is stupid, take care of yourself and when you can help others, oh yeah and turn off the fucking lights.
