Re: Soundgarden

They must be having a blast on all this. No mal-intent on Perry's part. He just can't remember shit because of his drug use.

Re: Soundgarden

Anyone checked out the new Chris Cornell cover album? I'm usually not into estate's milking a dead artist's vault with numerous posthumous releases...but in this case, BRING IT ON!

Re: JA Vinyl/CD - ALL Out of Print

The most likely answer, in all honesty, is that there aren’t any hints out there of a real demand for Jane’s physical media. We joke about it and all, but it’s pretty much just us as longtime ‘fans’ of the band. And most fans already have their CDs and/or simply use Spotify. If they printed Ritual ...

Re: JA Vinyl/CD - ALL Out of Print

Plenty of copies for sale I already own them. The point is, there are bands on Warner/Rhino that I would argue aren't as popular as Jane's and there are multiple reissues of their albums on physical media. The Replacements come to mind. Both Don't Tell A Soul and Pleased To Meet Me have gotten seri...

JA Vinyl/CD - ALL Out of Print

I posted something on my Facebook about Ritual turning 30 and a friend of mine mentioned that it is currently out of print on vinyl. I was in disbelief...but upon checking, all of Jane's Warner work is out of print on both vinyl and CD. I find this extremely odd...maybe I'm just out of touch with ho...

Also in Beneath the Ground even though his drums are heavily edited he is playing what I feel is a really interesting drum part that is ritual-esqe.

Re: Great Escape Artist followup

I've stayed silent on the P4P and Jane's performances at Lolla 2020. Old news: Perry continues to be the weak link. But it was nice to see them pull out "I Would For You", of all songs. And Dave is bringing it. All that aside, fuck Chris Chaney. I don't give a shit how great a session player he is o...

Re: Great Escape Artist followup

The songs they performed as Gobalee became the songs on that album. Stephen and Perry had a falling out around '99 and Perry turned it in to a solo endeavor. They had made up again before he finished, hence Perk playing on the title track. Yeah, I vaguely remember this now. I was shocked at the rif...

Re: Hard Charger

All of that being said, the song likely had to have existed in some form by 1995-96 if "Hard Charger" was the working title for GGU...at least, you'd think. Kind of hope that's not the case and that they wrote it in 1997...because not including that song on GGU is inexplicable to me. Not knocking G...

Re: Dave ripping Eric in 2013

If he really wanted to explore what could happen creatively, Perry’s idea of writing a few days a week for a year seemed better than trying to cram in music right before a big tour. Definitely. It's actually a pet peeve of mine when bands do that. You can totally hear that the process was rushed.

Re: Dave ripping Eric in 2013

Probably the biggest mistake both of them made was thinking they could just do the band and not hash shit out. If they do end up working together again, the absolutely need to resolve the personal shit. Always thought it was interesting that there was simmering tension the whole time, but since the...

Re: Great Escape Artist followup

Given Perry's track record, I knew we'd never see/hear it when he first made mention of another album. I just thought it was hilarious at the time and a way to save face...because in my mind, it was pretty damn obvious that the only reason TGEA was even made was because of the interview Eric did wit...

Great Escape Artist followup

Remember not long after The Great Escape Artist was released that Perry started talking about the band making another record. Fast forward 8-9 years and nothing.
