Dave Involved In Benefit Show in LA 11/30

(swiped without remorse from Blabbermouth.com) Henry Rollins has recruited SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian, SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo, JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro and members of Rob Zombie‘s band, including guitarist John 5, for a benefit con...

Re: Do you believe in other civilisations?

When I was in the aerospace industry, I worked 10 years on the so-called Skunk works program for a subcontractor for the big companies. I did see and work on a few prototype experimental aircraft in that time that to my knowledge never went into production (my mainstay was the Stealth Fighter and Bo...

While in Tucson last week, I picked up the triple disc remasters of The Jesus And Mary Chain's Automatic, Darklands, Honey's Dead, Stoned and Dethroned and Munki and been playing 'em all week.

Re: What's annoying you today?

An update to my family's drama...... Long story short, the brother is in town with his mom and dad who are in separate hospitals taking care of business. The father is making big progress getting up and walking around and his faculties are getting clearer. The family decided for his health, at least...

http://www.pollwatchdaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/gop-race-111411.jpg Not that these polls mean anything, especially at this point. Over the weekend, CBS reported that over 70% of GOP voters are still undecided . Considering what they've got to chose from, I would assume the confusion is whe...

I like it but nowhere near the level I like the previous Dio-fronted albums.

Curiously, my favorite Black Sabbath album is the one former Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan sang on, "Born Again." I love that album.

Depending on who you talk to, I'm old enough to remember the sound of a stone wheel moving a block of granite to build a pyramid.

Cool video but it really doesn't work in the confines of the song. The stuttering effect of the animation clashes against the rhythm of the song. However that one brief image of Flea standing on top of the locomotive rockin' out's gonna stick in my head for a long time.

Re: Black Sabbath Reunion

So let me get this straight. People are complaining because the pioneers of heavy metal, Black Sabbath with all its original members, plan to record an album with legendary producer Rick Rubin? This is the same board that actually praised the latest album by "Jane's Addiction", despite Eric Avery's...

Re: Jane's record label was sold.

What's that old interview where Perry says, "I'm like a ghost, I haven't created anything for months..." Inspiration can be fleeting. I think the life lesson of Jane's Addiction's career is to tap into the fire within you while you have it, because it won't last forever. Yeah, I can think of a laun...

Trust me, you haven't lived (or gone through several mattresses) until you have sex with a chick that has squirting orgasms. Jihad to that. Old man Pando speaks the wise. girls can have orgasms? :hs: Yes, there's truth to that myth! I know, sometimes depending on the pairing of the man and women, t...

Re: Jane's record label was sold.

Personally, I hope they do get booted off the label, especially if TGEA isn't selling more than 250,000 worldwide. Maybe this will tell Perry something and if they decide to make another record, they'll stop caring about record sales and radio songs and bring back som eof the free-flowing magic the...

Well, one day later, another chapter. My wife and I were called early this morning by the Mom-in-law's caregiver that when she arrived at the house to start the day, she was unable to wake mom although she was breathing and had a pulse and mumbling somewhat. She called paramedics and found she had t...

Re: Jane's record label was sold.

Capitol was part of EMI. and Isn't Virgin who Perry is currently with? I wonder if this will mean any changes for the band. I heard about this today on the news but didn't put it together that EMI owned Capitol. It's a crapshoot as to whether this will affect promotion positively or negatively for ...

OK, I really don't like whining about personal problems but the last month has been a piece of work. Almost a month ago, my father-in-law who lives in Tucson, Arizona discovered he needed heart valve replacement surgery. Even though he's 84, he's in remarkably good health otherwise and sharp as a ta...

Re: Black Sabbath Reunion

Not even interested. The first Ozzy/Sabbath reunion shows and tour around '96 were pretty good as documented on the "Reunion" cd/dvd. But later tours at the end of the 90's when it was plugged into Ozzfest often ranged towards dreadful with Ozzy canceling left and right and cutting down the set to b...

For a span of about 4 years in the late 90's, I was getting calls at all hours from patients of a local Huntington Beach psychiatrist who shared the exact same name as me. People would call information, give the guy's name and my number would come up. Most were just "sorry, wrong number" but some of...
