Re: NIN + Jesus And Mary Chain Tour

Spot on comments Pheno and yeah, Farrelgirl, the drum breakdown in TPD was jaw-dropping. The show was good, really good in fact but I think part of less-than-ecstatic feeling afterwords was that this was my first NIN show since the '09 Wiltern gig and I think I built my expectations up way too high ...

Re: NIN + Jesus And Mary Chain Tour

A really good but not great final night at the Palladium last night. It's been about 3 years since I last saw a show at the Palladium. There's more and more large buildings going up all around the area sucking up the old parking lots and making it tougher to get around Sunset Blvd and the freeways j...

This article has a short video of Murphy arguing and getting taken down outside the venue: https://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesbladet/a/yvBzME/police-investigate-bauhaus-singer-peter-murphy-61-after-bottle-attac This is a clip from the show where he lobs a bottle into the audience: LnSbFseOvnQ I dunno. ...

Re: Kind Heaven Orchestra's 12/2 show: Will it happen or not?

I couldn't agree more. It pains me that the heroes of my youth are all so crummy now. But there are other bands. For me, it seems even bands that I got into in just the past 10 years are already starting to go down the toilet. Arcade Fire and Muse being two prime examples. I had super high hopes fo...

Re: Kind Heaven Orchestra's 12/2 show: Will it happen or not?

I think with the four guys noted above, it's not that they are still putting out music that stands head n' shoulders with their top work, it's that they haven't become laughable parodies of themselves like Perry although imo, Corgan has come pretty fuckin' close. For the most part, these guys are st...

Re: NIN + Jesus And Mary Chain Tour

Thanks for the rundown re the ticket scenario. Have only been to the venue once (for nin, oddly enough), so don't know it well. As for merch- the cash grab is on. Apparently they're selling merch in the parking lot from 2pm each day.....to anyone. You don't need to be a ticket holder, which given t...

Re: NIN + Jesus And Mary Chain Tour

Here's hoping there is a section where one will be spared Reznor bringing his Mrs out on stage for three songs during a nin set! Not even Perry inflicted giving Etty a microphone on JA fans. To be less snarky, plenty of people seem be stoked with having the HTDA re-hash, but I really don't get that...

Re: NIN + Jesus And Mary Chain Tour

I was just curious about the GA layout...there was a fairly large variance in price (about 80 bucks) and some of the seats guaranteed something called GA 666-669, etc. I googled this and really nothing came up. I was bored and though about taking in the show, but don't want to be caged with a bad v...

Re: Bauhaus

Supposedly, he’s got his act together the past couple years. I’d love to see them again if they’re all playing at a decent level. When I saw Poptone, Ash and Haskins were fine although Ash is showing his age - no more head o’ big frizzy black hair.

It's annoying watching the way Perry pulls the mic from his face constantly like a trombonist
Agreed. But he has been doing this since JA v1.0. The difference now is that his voice sucks.
He snaked that vocal gimmick from Peter Murphy.

Re: Teregram Ballroom

Didn't know Chris Cheney was a part of this nonsense. Those clips are pretty dire and judging from the setlist, it doesn't appear they played much more then an hour despite having numerous (instrumental?) set breaks. The knucklehead at BMG who signed them for an album contract is probably sweating b...

Re: Muse

I've been really, REALLY trying to get into their newest album but it is pretty damn dire, imo the worst thing they've ever done. "Dig Down" which is not great and was released as a single about 18 months ago is the best song on the album.

Re: Happy Turkey & Football Day!

My wife loves to cook for Thanksgiving. I mean the works - turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes w/marshmallows, green beans and desert. This year was the first time she did cheese cake and it came out really good. Enough food to feed probably 12+ people but it would be only for the 3 of us (wife, son an...

Re: What made your day today?

So about a month ago, I noticed my dog Kahlua had chipped the probably the top 1/8th inch tip off of one of her lower canines. I could see the dark "pulp" in the center of the tooth. Long ago we stopped letting her play with stuff like cans and her metal bowls (see the video I posted last year in th...

Buh Bye, Stan Lee

Marvel Comics co-creator Stan Lee passed away today at the ripe ol' age of 95. One positive thing to note was Lee got to see (and participate in) his pulp comic book characters grow into what could be considered today's popular folk hero mythology, unlike many of his co-creators, notably Jack Kirby....

Re: White House Firings, Resignations, Replacements etc . .

I have to believe Trump planned on canning Sessions for months and moving his buddy Whitaker on to oversee Mueller but held back to see how the chips would fall for the mid-terms. Typical dick move to do it exactly one day after the election. Although I still think Dems don't have a chance of impeac...

Re: The last time you saw Jane's live

10/27/12 at The Wiltern Theater on the tail end of the Escape tour. It was an ok show but killed any further desire to see them again. The whole High School production/play during "Splash A Little Water On It" was laughably bad. You can see the same 10 songs and a few crap new ones only so many times.
