Re: What's annoying you today?

Yeah, besides being really dangerous, obstructions are notoriously evil in their pain levels. Sorry to hear this; hope she's feeling better. And btw, what fucking hospital od'd her? That's just beyond bizarre The Kaiser Hospital in South Bay/Wilmington. They're a teaching hospital which I wasn't in...

Re: What's annoying you today?

Almost two weeks ago, my wife had major emergency stomach surgery.... again. I know I long ago around 2014 mentioned in my typical great detail how my wife had a similar episode that was complicated by a hernia leading to 2 emergency surgeries in a week's time due to the first surgery resulting in h...

Aside from movies, the only series I'm currently watching is the new season of Billions. Kind of running a bit "Meh" after 3 episodes.

Re: The Rolling Stones

Unfortunately, as these legacy bands get past retirement age, it becomes a big role of the dice to commit to seeing them tour. It's troubling that it's Mick who's the issue this time around, he's incredibly fit for his age and they're not saying what his ailment is.

Re: Movies or "the breakdown of jasper"

Just watched “Vice,” the Dick Cheney biopic. I’ve always regarded Cheney as the most likely person to be charged as a US war criminal in the wake of the Middle East war stemming from 9/11 so clearly, I have no love for the guy. But holy shit, this movie paints him and everyone around him as despicab...

Re: The Dead Musicians thread

RIP Ranking Roger.. I saw The English Beat in the early 80s when they played in Toronto for the first time. I was in grade 9 and went with my friend and her older brother. Man, I still remember how hot and ram-jammed the venue was;the floor was actually heaving. What a great show and great memories...

My wife's best friend is a dentist who does a lot of cutting edge cosmetic dentistry. I remember a couple years ago during one of my cleanings she asked if I was interested in any sort of bridges (I have a couple teeth missing in the back of my lower jaw from wisdom tooth impact/extraction in my twe...

One funny bit was when they introduced their manager played by the actor who plays "Wags' in Billions as a very similar character here.
He was also Gale Boetticher in Breaking Bad.
You know, I've never seen a single episode of Breaking Bad. And I really don't know why....

Re: What is going on with Jussie Smollett??

This really smells bad especially after some were calling for an investigation into the DA’s conduct during this case. Smollett apparently did a mere 2 days of community service at Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH organization last weekend. He forfeited his measly $10k bond & all the charges were droppe...

Re: Movies or "the breakdown of jasper"

Enjoyed The Dirt. Obviously the book was way better, but the film was a lot of fun. Although I’m not entirely sure why Ozzy Osbourne had an Australian accent :lolol: I watched it over the course of a couple nights, mainly because Netflix kept crashing the first night allowing me to only get through...

Inhaler (Son of Bono's band)

They're not bad but they sound too much like both early Boy era U2 and the more crappy U2 of the last 10 years. Bono's son Eli's vox is very similar to pops without the range.

Re: Live shows in your agenda?

Bingo That was my 20's.. my close friends hated the music I liked and I felt the same way...after missing a few shows because nobody wanted to go I started clubing by myself which just lead to new friends who I shared musical tastes with...plus 10000x easier to get a single ticket or to sneak in......

Looks promising. Seems they were pretty well received here last year, so they're doing another round. If last year was the 40 years tour and they don't have a new album, are they promoting anything? It's a continuation of their 40th Anniversary tour. They're doing a tour of the UK and Europe in Aug...

Idles. Might be my favorite band of the moment. Touring the US in a couple months, looks like the Fonda Theater show on 5/22 in LA may be my first show of 2019.
