Re: Killing Joke

I bought a bunch of stuff from their official site that showed up today from the UK. Their latest live album from a show late last year, a book that includes almost every song they’ve written and a tour photo book that Youth put together. The lyric book is set up almost like a pocket bible, lol. The...

Re: What made your day today?

So my wife is recovering really quickly from her latest ordeal and she decided she's going back to work next week. We had this week left were she's in pretty good shape so Monday night we decided to book a short 3 day vacation in Vegas in the middle of the week. Neither of us has been there in years...

Re: Dave's gear

In the photo with the headstock of the guitar, does anyone know why he has the bottom ends of guitar strings tucked into the nut? Yeah, I couldn't figure out that photo either. It looks like the bottom 3 strings are somehow split in half and aren't wound on the tuners, just bent "L" shaped and thre...

I love Perry and I love Janes addiction so much. This however will be the last non Jane's Perry show i see.
That's like me saying I'll never see Van Halen again even if a bald, toothless David Lee Roth is still fronting the band.

Re: Thousands Of Shows And I Still Can't Hear You!

Wow, that is an impressive number of shows you've attended, Panda! Equally impressive is your chronological detailing of when and where you saw all these shows. :thumb: I'm surprised that you didn't see Queen while Freddie was still alive. No, I saw Queen in 1980 for The Game tour and in 1982 for t...

Re: Thousands Of Shows And I Still Can't Hear You!

You saw U2 and The Cure during their best eras. Better yet, most of those shows appeared to be GA on the floor. Here in LA in the 80's, everything was reserved seating for just about any show bigger than the Hollywood Palladium.

Re: Movies or "the breakdown of jasper"

i watched scarface for the first time last night. i have no idea why i haven't seen it before. pachino is great in it of course but other than that there is some really bad acting in it but i guess that is to be expected from a movie so old. decent movie. When Scarface was first released, everyone ...

Re: Now Watching...

Spending a lot more time the past couple weeks watching tv with my wife as she rehabs. Among a few shows/seasons we've plowed through include "What We Do In The Shadows" and "The Hot Zone." Hot Zone was pretty good, although it seemed like every possible rank amateur screw-up in the discovery, resea...

Re: Thousands Of Shows And I Still Can't Hear You!

Btw, that concert is a bonus on Pretender II (Expanded & Remastered) if you don't already have it. It's insanely good, as you know. The Alarm opened that show and they came out for the cover of Jackie Wilson's ((You're Love Keeps Liftin)Higher and Higher) and fucked up some notes....lol Ha, small w...

Re: Thousands Of Shows And I Still Can't Hear You!

This is a great thread....Panda, was there anything remarkable about The Pretenders shows? Doing a bit of catch up here, so sorry for the late reply.... The first Pretenders show I saw back in '81 with the original line-up at the Santa Monica Civic was by far the best show of the few I've seen over...

Re: Killing Joke

Glad you're out having fun man Thanks, it was great to get out and see a show, especially one of my old favs. I wound up eating my ticket to last night's Roxy show. I probably could have made it but it was a long afternoon taking my wife back to the surgeon in South Bay and she was in a lot of pain...

Jesus Christ. This country runs despite itself. DJT's cabinet is useless (yeah, I know, I 'm stating the obvious). :scared: https://twitter.com/cspan/status/1130897040211357696 Carson's a buffoon. It's incomprehensible that he is or was a neurosurgeon. At least he didn't ask about REO Speedwagon.

Re: Killing Joke

I caught last night's show at The Yost Theater in Santa Ana. A while back I had planned on seeing the LA show at The Roxy in Hollywood on Thursday and bought a ticket for it even though Santa Ana is literally 15 minutes away while Hollywood can be an hour plus depending on traffic. The thing was, Id...

Yeah, besides being really dangerous, obstructions are notoriously evil in their pain levels. Sorry to hear this; hope she's feeling better. And btw, what fucking hospital od'd her? That's just beyond bizarre The Kaiser Hospital in South Bay/Wilmington. They're a teaching hospital which I wasn't in...

Re: What's annoying you today?

Almost two weeks ago, my wife had major emergency stomach surgery.... again. I know I long ago around 2014 mentioned in my typical great detail how my wife had a similar episode that was complicated by a hernia leading to 2 emergency surgeries in a week's time due to the first surgery resulting in h...

Aside from movies, the only series I'm currently watching is the new season of Billions. Kind of running a bit "Meh" after 3 episodes.
