Re: Stephen Perkins - Jane's Addiction's Greatest Escape

So basically everything in the band sucks and they'll break up after this tour.

If you think this is a return to greatness, then they never stopped being great.

We need some drama

Can Perry fire Dave and replace him with with Buckethead or something? Stuff's getting boring here.

Re: Stephen Perkins: "I think we're peaking now"

In hindsight they shouldn't have gone into the studio with Trent with a 10 day time limit, they should have gone in there with the plan of making a record, no matter how long it took.

I'm surprised they didn't film it for a new version of the 'Classic Girl' video.

Re: Eric Tweet

When it comes to Eric's involvement it's hard to say. They're going to keep Jane's Addiction going regardless of what he does, and outside of maybe 500 people on the internet nobody has a clue/gives a shit that he isn't there, they just see Jane's Addiction and think that's it you know. So it's not ...

Wow, Perry DIDN'T LIP SYNC THE CHORUS TO UNDERGROUND HERE, and it sounded GOOD. Shows how lazy he is onstage, he's clearly capable of singing it but phones it on 95% of the time.

Re: Jane's - 1.5 Hour Set Length/No Recording

Just watched this clip of Twisted Tales. I don't usually get into the Perry slagging but t's lame that he isn't even really singing the recorded melody on the new tracks and the backing tracks are lame. I was pretty impressed but the setlist that was posted and was almost thinking I might check if ...

Words seems pretty good live, if he is lip syncing certain parts it isn't nearly as obvious as it is on IF, Twisted Tales, ETTL, and Underground.

Re: Jane's already discussing new music...

This is so typically Perk. The guy ALWAYS talks in fucking circles. Perkins says there are ideas left over from nearly four years of work, but he doesn't consider that a head start for a next album. "I think it's always a wrong idea to do that," Perkins explains, " 'cause hopefully you're different...

The magic show Perry has talked about will probably end up taking 30 minutes. Etty will pull a rabbit out of her ass.

yup, I'm really diggin' the new VH myself... too bad they had to throw in the 'tattoo' song; it seems so out of place compared to the rest of the album. nice to hear a band from 28 yrs. ago sound as fresh as they do... eddie is still a brilliant guitar player---you can just tell he's just jammed ou...

Been listening to the album nonstop the last few days, it's amazing. One of my favorite rock records to come out in the last few years, and probably the best comeback album ever made. "As Is" is a fucking beast of a song. The whole album is just great. While I like Tattoo fine, it's not among my fav...

I pretty much agree with everything you say above. Underground and ETTL have long since become the only two tracks I lis...

Reflections on Strays vs. TGEA a few months later

With a few months having passed now, I can say that I prefer Strays over The Great Escape Artist. When TGEA came out I said I preferred it over Strays, but whether you like Strays or not, it sounds like a completed record with a cohesive sound. TGEA just sounds unfinished, it's only 10 songs (which ...
