Re: HBO - The Newsroom

I think the McAvoy character resembles Olbermann in demeanor, style, and people skills. #1 How does he not also resemble Rush Limbaugh, or any pundit then in that same regard? As far as Olbermann's "political agenda," as I recall he went after everyone regardless of which side of the aisle they wer...

Re: HBO - The Newsroom

It is obvious that his character (even though he is a republican) is modeled after Keith Olbermann. I completely disagree. Suggesting that almost seems to miss the point of what the characters on the show are trying to accomplish, thus the point of the entire show. Olbermann is an overt liberal wit...

Re: HBO - The Newsroom

episode 4 is not quite so good. three was awesome. I like it enough to stick with it, but it's super preachy, and Mac is increasingly unbearable. the soap opera-y stuff has me a little bored at times, but jeff daniels is fantastic, don and jim are mirrors/foils, and the charlie character is endeari...

Re: Germany bans circumcision

no way should it be banned. I think this is something the government should not have control over. We sort of agree, except that there's a difference between government policies that increase awareness/education, and straight-up telling individuals what they can't do. But it isn't a strict issue of...

Re: Germany bans circumcision

That's a partial myth. Avoiding bladder infections - it used to thought that circumcised boys and men had a much lower chance of bladder infections. The AAP now knows that this benefit is very small, and is only true for the first few years of life. After that, there is no difference in the number ...

Uh, no it isn't.

Healthwise, uncircumcised boys/men are more vulnerable to bladder infections.

This is not unusual. Studies indicate that as you age you don't process it in the same way; more alcohol stays in your body and for a longer period of time.

Lance Armstrong Calls Doping Case 'Personal Vendetta'

This story has been in and out of the news for some time. I haven't paid much attention to it, so I am continually surprised each time there is another story about Lance Armstrong; I had assumed his situation had been resolved. I do not know what to think about LA's guilt or innocence, but the testi...
