A condensed summation of the last 20 years in Afghanistan (10-15 minute read): The 20 Years’ War: America in Afghanistan Strategic blunders by each administration virtually assure that the future of Afghanistan will reflect the interests of the Taliban, not the United States. Re: Politics

So who is surprised Afghanistan is going to hell so quickly? What a waste of 2 decades, thousands of lives, trillions of dollars and untold resources. Not surprised. The Taliban has been biding its time. I thought the deal brokered/signed with Pompeo back in Feb 2020 was worrisome. The guy who sign...

No. Each lecture in that class is not devoted to one specific play.

(As you know, there is debate to the actual number of plays written.)

Re: Autodidacticism

As to the Shakes class, which of the 36 were taught? 3 of each? ? All classes are taught by professors. It is like auditing a class/sitting in a lecture. The Shakespeare course I referred to has 36 lectures. Here is the page that tells you the content of each lecture in the course. https://www.wond...

Which one's have you taken? I wouldn't say taken taken so much as watched. Keep in mind that you do not need to register for anything and you can bounce in and out of the sessions. You don't turn in papers (or at least you couldn't when I watched.) I realize OYC directs you to their home page to en...

Re: Coronavirus

I got my second shot Friday morning. The headache and body aches came 4am Saturday. It was rough yesterday, couldn't get out of bed. I was hoping it wasn't going to be so bad (despite what I have read) since my husband seemed to glide though his 2nd dose. Worth it nevertheless.

My husband got his 2nd Pfizer dose Thursday morning. His arm is still sore and he was tired all day yesterday. Nothing else. Probably the worst thing was my feeling his forehead and asking how he felt every 10 minutes.

Re: George Floyd trial verdict - Poll: Will Chauvin be found guilty?

I was under the impression they were 3 different options for the jury to convict, not that they could convict Chauvin of (all) 3 levels of murder/manslaughter - I mean, he killed the one guy once. In Minnesota they are three distinct crimes. Brief descriptions: 2nd degree unintentional murder - unr...

I am currently reading two books: This is How They Tell Me the World Ends by Nicole Perlroth and, Moonwalking With Einstein by Joshua Foer. Both are well written and, the material is made accessible for a lay person. With regard Nicole's Perlroth's book, when she was asked by the NYT to take on the ...

So what’s the latest in the political hoopla in the US? I see Trump hasn’t been too vocal lately.. Trump is mired in investigations and lawsuits (both criminal and civil) against him. Who knows if anything will come out of it. He has also had some issues with his residency at Mar-a-Lago. He has not...

It's kind of similar to tinnitus in a a way. I wonder how people get used to that. My husband has tinnitus. It has gotten progressively worse over the last ten tears. Depending on the day, he may hear what sounds like crickets, steam/hissing, and/or ringing. Occasionally he may hear all three at on...
