I just had a piece of the best Jamaican black cake I have ever had.

One of my co-workers made it.She starts her cakes really early in the year, so by Christmas time they are super boozey and delicious.

Well, my year has been pretty uneventful. It hasn't been great, but not annus horribilis either.

The biggest accomplishment has been quitting smoking. It will be 6 months at the end of the month.

I have to go to my mother's place to fish a dead rat out of her basement toilet. A couple days ago I set some traps, but I think what killed it are the meds my mom is on. She has blister packs made up with the pills portioned out. My mom said he got into one of the packs and chewed some of the caps...
