Re: Movies or "the breakdown of jasper"
funny, I just watched the movie AND Heart of Darkness and some docs on youtube where they break it down. The first half of the movie is the best. Amazing soundtrack too, very menacing. And fyi, quite a few of the actors we're high/drunk during shooting. E.g. Martin Sheen in the scene in the beginnin...

Re: Coronavirus
"opening the country", not really the right way to put it, is it? Anyway, you seem to get what I mean. Some will have their freedom very soon, in about a week, kids from the age 0 to 7 or something will start going to school and kindergarten and such if the school e.g is able to live up to certain r...

Re: Coronavirus
I researched a bit and it turns out that we normally have relatively few ICU's but that we're able to turn regular beds into ICU's fast if need be so i.e. we'll have plenty as long as we can control the curve when we start opening the country.
No crisis right now that's for sure

Re: Coronavirus
perhaps I'm too focused on ventilators. We have 970 of them and I think 110 are in use right now. But I'd be surprised if we have a shortage of ICU's in general, but who knows. I'll watch the news in 10 minutes, if we're going down the drain tomorrow I' think they'll let us know

Re: Coronavirus
If I understand things correctly they're saying that Denmark is going to have an ICU bed shortage tomorrow. Not true at all, unless something fucks up completely during the next 24 hours

Re: Now Watching...
Been watching some Columbo lately. The episode Identity Crisis is amazing because of this man: Patrick McGoohan. He's one of the most virtuoso actors I've seen. Just amazing. Turned down the role as James Bond three times. Mostly known for the groundbreaking and prophetic show The Prisoner, which he...

Re: Coronavirus
Anyone's see any future prediction? Where are we in three months, six months? That's what I'd like to know. This is a really good site for projection statistics. Put out by IHME, a reasearch group based out of the University of Washington. It breaks down for US or specific states, updated daily. ht...

Re: Coronavirus
nevermind. About 5% of Danes have now been infected, we need to get to 60-70% because at that point there's a chance that the virus will die off. People are going to be led out in groups, starting with kids. It's hard to say how long it will take to get to 70. It's not that difficult. Epidemiologis...

Re: Coronavirus
This is written by the Editor in chief of a big newspaper here. It's the first time I've heard this point of view. Maybe we, and many other countries, are handling this the wrong way completely Right now, I think many people look astonished at Sweden. The country of prohibition is open, the children...

Re: Coronavirus
I don't understand the whole "peaking thing". Why do people think its going to peak? You'd think it would be here as long as there are people to infect. As far as I know the Spanish flu didn't "peak", it was here for a year or something and died off only because everybody were either dead or had bec...

Re: Coronavirus
Denmark is talking about slowly opening the country beginning in two weeks, maybe. I just don't see how that can be a good idea. More people will just get infected. We are going to continue being slaves to this fcuking thing until we come up with meds that can kill it. I feel like I'm in a Paul Verh...

Re: Coronavirus
Ok, maybe I wasn't a complete idiot, from Wikipedia: Treatment (H5N1) Further information: Flu research There is no highly effective treatment for H5N1 flu, but oseltamivir (commercially marketed by Roche as Tamiflu), can sometimes inhibit the influenza virus from spreading inside the user's body. T...

Re: Coronavirus
I don't think it's that simple at all. You'd see a whole other level of panic and chaos . Many more people would get sick than now, not "just" primarily the elderly and sick and there'd soon be shortages of food and medicine and gas etc and the world would become an increasingly very very dangerous ...
