Re: Megavest: Dave Mustaine Endorses Rick Santorum

Put the brakes on divorce. Divorce shouldn't be so expensive, but marriage should be a contract and it should be hard to break. It shouldnt be something people are able to jump in to without understanding the consequences. People with children should find it more difficult to break the contract. Co...

Re: US, poverty, tent cities and kids.

Am I just too idealistic? I just think my neighborhood/town/city/country/etc. would be better if there aren't any people eating rats because they have nothing else to eat, or if more people get the education they want, or if more people can promptly heal their illnesses. And I'd happily take money ...

Re: US, poverty, tent cities and kids.

You say it quite honestly in the rest of your post, though: you don't believe in the capacity of your government. Correct And you don't believe in the honesty of your fellow citizens. There's abuse there. Correct. But I do believe in the generosity of the rest of us as evidenced in the article I po...

Also: The group kicks off the first of three planned North American tour legs on Feb. 22 in St. Louis Three legs? We'll see. I find it hard to believe. But this is what these guys need to be doing. Pumping out as much music as possible and touring often with varying set lists each leg/tour. Eventual...

OK, then let me ask you directly: would you be in favor of raising your taxes if it would mean better, "free" and prompt healthcare for those who're worse-off than you? No. 1. I don't believe an entity as beaurocratic as government is at the federal level to implement sucg a program in an effective...

Re: US, poverty, tent cities and kids.

I was just pointing out that clearly there are a lot of people who seem to be out of options And that's where you're wrong, again. The options are there. If you want to debate or discuss why they're not taking advantage of them then we'll be having a reasonable discussion. I think the problem in th...

So, I get back from work at 7.30 last night and the wife and I head out to the supermarket to get some food. Whilst we're out, she starts having mild contractions. Anyway, we get home and start packing her hospital bag, have some dinner etc... and she says she doesn't know whether to go for a lie d...

Re: Jane's Addiction to play Summer Camp Music Festival

i remember. i just think it's strange since they don't jam anymore. It's not an obvious connection for sure, but going back to Deadicated they've been embraced by that culture. Sort of like if they played a punk festival. Seems odd now, but back in the day no one would have batted an eye. So when y...

Yeah I'm happy I get the first show. Saw the first show of the Lollapalooza 2003 tour too, and it was nice having no idea what to expect. 'no idea what to expect'??? a bit of a stretch from these guys, eh? but i know what you mean. i stayed away from the boards that summer too so i'd have some amou...

I don't like Garbage, but all of the people involved are respectable. No sense in slagging on them like they're the Spice Girls.

Re: Jane's Addiction to play Summer Camp Music Festival

this entire festival is a bunch of hippie jam bands Plus Jane's Addiction. does not compute. Do they just sign up for big paychecks, or do they actually care where they play? Jane's has always been big with the hippies. Just like Primus and Flaming Lips. Every single hippie I've known has been in t...

Re: Intro to Jane's

Watching the movie Singles around 1993-94 I always noticed that one song that plays in the movie (Three Days) but wasn't on the soundtrack. I only knew Zeppelin so well and for some reason I assumed it was them. Was watching it with a girlfriend in '94 and asked her if she knew. She said she thought...

I won't watch Eric play in any other band than Janes. unless he is in a good one. still waiting. I wouldn't wait for Giraffe Tongue Orchestra. Doesn't look like he's going to be part of that much longer... :noclue: Why do you say that? Stuff I've heard, wouldn't be wise to go any further than that....

Agree about John lennon, did not affect me at all, i also have to admit that i am not a Beatles fan. :hide: Cobain ... it was not really a surprise that he did it. Still love him on MTV unplugged, great show. Layne Staley was a bummer too. But none of them devastated me. Oh and what is with the ban...

I actually gasped when I saw the news headline. This is the gayest post you've ever made. That's one of the most predictable responses to a post that's ever been made. Well, as long as you know how gay it sounded. It's true, the headline surprised me. I knew that writing it would invite a dim bulb ...

i wonder if you did a poll of the 49 million people how many had cable and a cell phone. many in our country are just spoiled and irresponsible. throw food and money at them and they will just be the same way. So true. And the older you get and more you experience the more you realize how true this...

Re: US, poverty, tent cities and kids.

49 million poor people doesn't seem like a small portion of the population. 15%? It really is. And that's "poverty". Not "Extreme Poverty." I know plenty of people living in "poverty" and every last one of them is a pot head or shitty decision maker and has a flat screen TV and cell phone. Granted ...

Re: US, poverty, tent cities and kids.

The point of the video (in Spanish anyway) is to show how poor people live in the 'richest country in the world.' You guys didnt think there were poor people living in bad conditions here? Overall, it's still an extremely small portion of the population, and it's not as if there isn't a ton of char...
