Re: Spend Your Body
Yeah i liked SYTBS a lot... a couple of the demo's were even better than what ended up on record. I get what KV means with the "uh-oh" because i was a bit like that too... more around some of the interviews he was doing at the time though. All this recent stuff, EDM or whatever we're calling it... f...

Re: Dick Dale
Thats funny i was just talking about Dick Dale with my father. I have seen him a couple of times and he stills blows people away. My father saw a free show in 1965 at El Camino College in the south bay, the Beach Boys with dick dale opening. Imagine how amazing that would of been. :thumb: Holy shit...

Re: Does everyone remember the exact moment when...
I liked the '03 UK tour for what it's worth. Some little stand out moments like Shower @ Manchester and 1% @ the second London show. The first London show, Brixton, was on Halloween and had a great vibe to it... the only show they played Three Days too from memory. There was the flashmob in Covent G...

I don't know what a 'belter' is, hopefully that is good if you are showing them to your kids. Your kids have some really good taste. Those three (+goonies) were far and away my favorites as a kid, I remember being mesmerized by them. They really sparked a sense of wonder, awe and adventure in...

Seen 72/75... missing Toy Soldiers, Krull and Elephant Man. Some total belters in that list and i've been introducing my kids to some of them over the past couple of years. The ones that they've absolutely loved are Big, Flight of the Navigator and Bill & Ted. Throughout Big, neither kid moved an in...

I saw Evan Dando last week - not seen him or the Lemonheads since '94! Anyway, fucking brilliant show... 30+ songs and just great to see him still around. The guy's had troubles galore and looked completely out of it all night but the stuff that he does well is just beautiful. So pleased that I went.

I wasn't able to watch the SNL 40th anniversary show, but the Wayne's World sketch made my weekend. Garth is sooo adorable  t9AroeHa4ec yeah, i watched this earlier too - absolutely brilliant... the Kanye / Bey / Beck jokes were cool. I loved the Jeopardy skit too - Will Ferrell was real fun...

The years not even over yet i'm struggling to remember where i've been and what i've seen. Ones that immediately spring to mind are The Wytches, Basement Jaxx and Janes. The Basement Jaxx show was the biggest plus as it was a 'wife's choice' show which i usually just grimace my way through... howeve...

Re: Your 10 Desert Island Albums
Haha, love stuff like this... not that i'm ever happy with the list i go with as I always change my mind 100+ times along the way! So, if i was to find myself on a desert island and I found a chest with the following 10 records in, i'd be cool with that; Beck - One Foot In The Grave (expanded editio...

dave said that they didn't rehearse once for these shows and that perry didn't even show up for soundcheck. laziest band ever. he also said that perry sounded better than he has for years and that manchester was the best show of them all. :noclue: Dude, although I wanted the bass to be louder (and ...

Re: Janes NS show LA 9/20
Nice. So strange to get this report so early, though I know it is anything but in your neck of the woods. Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear the show was decent, too. Far, far better show than the last UK one in Aug '11. Perry was in good spirits, talking about his cock a lot, ranting about drugs and...

Re: Janes NS show LA 9/20
16 songs... album (obvs) plus BCS, Just Because, Three Days, Stop and Chip Away. The latter ended the show a bit weirdly as the hanging flesh girls weren't swinging around properly... not sure what was wrong... Perry and Dave were totally side-tracked by that going on. Anyway, the show was decent en...

Re: Janes NS show LA 9/20
So who is going to 8/20? I wonder if they rehearsed for more than 5 minutes. Yep, guilty. Honestly not expecting much but I doubt i'll walk out thinking it was shit. It does sound as though it will generally be dialled in but what can you do... that's what they are these days. End of the day, it's ...

First Shogo and now Jay. I had the pleasure of working on marketing and promotion for two movies about these guys. They'll always be legendary in my mind. Just got home from holiday and it's one of the first bits of news I've heard. Absolutely loved Jay as a skater. He was such a great advert / adv...

Re: I need a book to read for my holidays
I'm going on 'vacation' next week for a couple of weeks and I need something to read. I tend to use my holiday to read band biogs/autobiogs (last year I read Duff's book) but I could be persuaded to change. My criteria is a) The book is non-fiction b) It is interesting Wouldn't mind hearing of any ...
