Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread
Excellent. Perry sounds terrific; he’s clearly still into it. Josh isn’t a great guitar player. And Then She Did... is super-weak, like his clean tone is totally dead, no chiming chorused sustain. I’d still like to hear his solo on Three Days.

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread
You guys realize that’s road from Life.Time right? Eric said he wanted to rework it back in 2014 Yeh, I noticed too. Wasn’t it originally a Jane’s idea from back during the Reznor sessions? Anyway.. I like the vibe, rhythm section sounds great. The lyrics in the first verse are a little cringy. As ...

Josh adds some value to Kettle. I’m sure I’ll regret the compliment when I hear his Three Days solo.

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread
JK’s solos suck, his stage presence is lame and he’s too ugly for this band. I thought he’d fit better than Troy the Boy, but nah.
New song has a cool vibe. God save Eric Avery.

Unless I missed something, Dave hasn’t posted anything in a little while. Maybe he’s in the studio recording Jane’s stuff.

Re: Navarro: What makes him great?
Bottom line here is if you need a cheesedick guitar part for “Another Soulmate,” our Dave will show up on time and sober. A twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with the original Jane’s on a flight path to legacy rehabilitation? Nah, he’d rather get high with his enabler-slash-fiancé and spray pa...

Re: Josh Stepping In For Upcoming Shows
There's a large group in the music community that has strong ties to recovery. I hope they're reaching out, but ultimately, it's going to take a heroic commitment from DN himself. I haven't listened to the art-related interview that was meant to have aired today (I think) - the fact that it was bil...

Re: Josh Stepping In For Upcoming Shows
The one thing that tips me off most that he's using, is his art. I don't know if anyone remember his 6767.com website back between 99 and 2000 but it was full of the same kind of art he is making now. Right down to creating his own weird font out of symbols. He did that back then, too. Some of the ...

I think this is a good guess.Tyler Durden wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:32 amThat’s what they’re saying. But we know that this band’s PR can’t exactly be trusted.
In six months, they’ll tell us he’s now in the band and we’ll then hear new music by them in 2024 (maybe).

Re: Josh Stepping In For Upcoming Shows
Man who else can say they’ve stepped in for both John Frusciante and Dave Navarro? I find this guy pretty underwhelming. Can anyone point to some original music he has recorded with RHCP, some other artist, or solo that gives off a “WOW” factor? I just don’t get it. His two albums with the Chili Pe...

Re: Jane’s to play the Palladium in March?
I used to really care. I just don’t anymore. Last shows looked to have a very cool vibe. I’m in for that, at my age. If Dave just doesn’t want to, but the others do, and other guitarists do to (like Daniel Ash 😎), then I’m in. For the last time, Daniel Ash is special and all, but really is not much...

Re: Jane’s to play the Palladium in March?
Stickyfingers…I know you’re being cheeky here…but the soap opera drama is no longer amusing; way past its best before date. It’s annoying as fuck and makes the band look bad. The amazing five year ride of the original band is being incredibly diminished by decades of bullshit acrimony. Even the ori...

Re: Navarro: What makes him great?
There is a definitive Navarro sound, I’d say, in terms of the scales/modalities, licks, riffs, voicings, technique and guitar tone. That sound is basically rooted in the pentatonic, dorian and mixolydian scales with the odd dissonant note thrown in every now and then to create a sense of eeriness. ...

Re: Dave and Eric on new Iggy Pop Record
Wonder if that was the first time Josh had seen Chad since the pink slip No they have been working together for the past few years. They did the Eddie Vedder record and toured last year (with Chaney), also with Andrew Watt I’m stunned Andrew Watt has become this influential in the rock world. Not t...

Re: Navarro: What makes him great?
Agree. It made me sad to hear those chordal colors and goth-psych arpeggios on the new Iggy track, especially sitting so close to the Eric track.
