Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

... Anyone else have a feeling they'll re-record kettle v/2023? I hope they do. Along with Suffer Some and Slow Divers. And if Dave can participate, get Perry to add vocals to San Francisco. Why the hell not at this point? It’s a shame there was never an actual record with those songs along with tr...

Had the same thought- always wanted a proper studio version closer to how they played it during 1.0

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

Three Days. Josh is good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZjBJHRq_O8 He completely fucks up the clean arpeggios in the intro. It’s embarrassing. And then goes on to completely nail the rest of the song for the most part. You’re being ridiculously hard on him. Troy also had his moments where he wou...

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

They played Obvious? No, more to the point... Eric played Obvious? Has he ever played Obvious, I think even the studio recording had a session guy on it. I know they played it with Martyn on the Jubilee tour. If Eric is actually playing Obvious, that shows there is just a ton of water under the bri...

Trip Away from Bakersfield https://youtu.be/3ftj9x6H9ws Josh is killing it in this. Seems they extended the middle part on the fly. Again this version is so loose and fun. This rules This is awesome- he kills ain’t no right too I hope they come with Josh to Philly this summer- I want to hear trip a...

pb got a great recording of it

it's the one the rolling stone article shows
Kind of bizarre to see it popping up on RS.

It’s being used on pretty much every major site- stereogum, nme, consequence, blabbermouth etc. As far as I know it’s the the only vid of it so far on youtube

Re: True Love

It’s still a work in progress- I genuinely don’t feel like they’ve come up with an actual guitar part for it yet. I really like the lyric “wading in the waters of true love.” It strikes an image in my head like slow divers and Summertime Rolls. I also give it a pass that the bass idea has already be...

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

What alway's made Jane's special was the undeniable chemistry between all 4 members.. no? I don't think you can replace anyone of them. That's the truth. Playing live is one thing, but creating/writing music together is something else entirely. It's the magic that happens between the four of them.....

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

Josh is cool and everything it’s just that well… he plays notes and chords with his fingers on an actual guitar. It’s like, can’t he play guitar?? Itd be cool if Dave played guitar but also he plays guitar and I don’t want to see that. I guess Troy was okay but he was using his basic cognitive funct...

Fuck Dave, Josh, and Troy.

We need someone who isn’t a career musician and can really bring a rawness and edge to Jane’s. I try to practice three days a week but am not always successful. I’ll answer the call if given the opportunity

New Podcast Interview w/ Stephen

3 Is the Magic Number Podcast- talks about new music at 46:20. I’m getting the sense he found out Eric was back in the band the day they started writing, but maybe I’m reading into it.

Dave could react great to TL if he wanted to. My guess is Josh will end up playing on the studio version.

I’d really like to see what he can do with what the other guys have come up with- I know he can be great but it’s been well over six months now of stone cold silence

Re: JA March 2023 Tour Thread

I think it’s cool they chose to go with something understated and soft rather than the last two times with another soulmate and end to the lies. Shows that Janes is dynamic with where they can go song wise- my guess is it’s still being worked on and that they are still deciding who will react to it ...

I really like it- very endearing and raw and what I hoped it would be. Far cry from another soulmate- we just needed Eric basslines all along

You can tell it’s still being worked on, there’s basically no guitar on this

Eric said he wanted to rework it back in 2014
I’m not following
That bassline is the song road from 2013

Also always thought this would have made a great Janes song so glad it’s being repurposed

What’s really exciting is that it sounds like they have more than 3 songs now, and that we’re trending toward a full album. I really hope they scrap any guitar tracks from other people and just use Dave I like the title imminent redemption- “imminent” seems like an Eric word to me. Two sort of inter...

Also wild the three of them did an interview together- still surreal to see Eric fully integrated

I saw Smile Empty Soul, Thursday, Thrice, and Deftones open for them in 2003. Was truly fucking miserable standing thru that for the most part. I'm so sorry. A very weird time for rock music. I'll never understand how Deftones gained traction...I think they're korny (sorry) as fuck; just awful. 200...

Re: Navarro: What makes him great?

To be fair, I dont think Eric, Perry or Stephen have been much more prolific. Even Martyn doesn't seem to do that much? Chaney is the one most committed to music. And then, of their peers Fishbone are still really active and creative, as are RHCP. Bob Forrest doesn't seem to do anything but obvious...
