I know this was obvious, but c'mon.

I don't know what happened at the end, and I am mildly irritated that they keep pulling the same shit.

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)

Carol leaving made no sense. She'd probably have to kill even more people to survive on her own. I guess someone will capture her or some shit. Whatever.

Was the guy whose dick got bit the same one who stole Daryl's bike?

Re: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul

I enjoy the languid pace. The tension will undoubtedly be ratcheted up as things progress. I don't know how much it will overlap with with the Breaking Bad timeline, but more edgy drama will inevitably arise as Mike and Jimmy become more deeply entangled with the criminal world and its colorful psyc...

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)

The weak cover of a truly great Chris Isaak tune was a weird choice.

They build this show up so much, and you have to wait so long between seasons, and then it's ten quick episodes and poof! It's gone.

By the way, so much for softening up Abraham. That brutal breakup method was uncalled for. I'll be happy to comfort that poor girl.

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)

abraham will surely die during the fight. it's the old trick of softening the tough character up just before he dies. losing the necklace is probably a sign too. i hate to be a broken record but i really enjoy the zombie free episodes. Well, I guess the fight's not technically over quite yet. Someb...

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)

Eh, it was kinda sorta OK. The Rick and Daryl parts were good. Deanna was last seen screaming at an oncoming hoarde of walkers after shooting several of them. They would have eaten her, so it doesn't make sense that her reanimated corpse would be stumbling around in the forest completely intact. Ric...

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)

It was OK. There was a lot going on. That part in the woods was especially harsh. Rick's incompetence strikes again. He should have picked up that kid the minute he started freaking out. That thing will Glenn basically amounts to a second Glenn death fake-out. It really seems like they're gearing up...

Re: Best song sung by a band's non lead singer?

I imagine there was acid here or there in the factory, along with all of the other drugs. I don't know that Lou Reed was ever into heroin in any significant way, although he did play with the perception that he was a junkie for a short while in his solo career. I think Lou's two greatest vices (leav...

Re: Best song sung by a band's non lead singer?

Nico is the chanteuse in the band. So that is kinda a lead singer, no? Nico only appeared on one album, on which she sang lead on only three of the eleven tracks (and backup on another), songs which until then had been sung live by Lou Reed, and would continue to be sung by Lou Reed after the short...

Re: Best song sung by a band's non lead singer?

Doug Yule singing Candy Says is a good one: XPgGjUSEWss Doug Yule singing New Age is another good one: coBvkq88Ho0 Then, of course, there's All Tomorrow's Parties, sung by Nico. Nico couldn't sing to save her life, but somehow this remains one of the greatest pop/rock songs ever recorded: 9pMuAgsZ2o...

Re: David Bowie

From the recording sessions for the "Absolute Beginners" soundtrack in the mid 80's, Bowie clowns around in the studio and does multiple takes imitating the singing styles of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Loud Reed, Iggy Pop and a few others NrtXFTw2ico  This is great. What the hell was he doi...

yeah, I hope that's not their biggest moment, would be kind of sad. Actually, I think it is their biggest hit, but at least it was custom made for them. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/mott-the-hoople-songs/ The story goes that after David Bowie — finally a breakout star thanks to ‘Hunky Dory’ — fou...

this will make jasper happy. i loved season 1. the others not as much. HBO has greenlit a Deadwood movie http://www.avclub.com/article/hbo-has-greenlit-deadwood-movie-230448 This does make me happy, though I'm still hoping for even more. I wonder how they'll deal with the passage of time. There's n...

They're in awfully rough shape, but at least they're still . . . something.

I suppose a restoration is too much to hope for, especially one that doesn't turn Casey into Etty.
