Re: Movies or "the breakdown of jasper"
this will make jasper happy. i loved season 1. the others not as much. HBO has greenlit a Deadwood movie http://www.avclub.com/article/hbo-has-greenlit-deadwood-movie-230448 This does make me happy, though I'm still hoping for even more. I wonder how they'll deal with the passage of time. There's n...

They're in awfully rough shape, but at least they're still . . . something.
I suppose a restoration is too much to hope for, especially one that doesn't turn Casey into Etty.

Re: Another Scott Weiland "supergroup"
Last time I saw his name was a few months ago (probably here), and I had a brief moment where I was thinking that he'd already died, but it was clear from the mention that he was alive. Aside from here on ANR, the man and his shenanigans have been far outside of my sphere of awareness, so unlike poo...

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)
you know something is going to happen and morgan is going to start killing some fools. i did enjoy seeing carol get roughed up a bit since she thinks she is too much of a bad ass. Yeah, Morgan might kill some people after the wolf guy kills some (more) of his friends. Maybe he'll be forced to kill ...

Re: Strays early version?
I know, Perry did comment. Describing it as a riot and saying Casey was at the side of the stage is what brought me out of "lurker" status! Was that Chicago? Where the barrier broke? That was in the greater Boston area. Brandeis University in Waltham. Gosman Center, an atrocious venue fit only for ...

Re: Strays early version?
I never posted until someone reviewed the Halloween show and greatly exaggerated what went on (MTV cameras pulled down in a riot(...) Hmmm. While there was no riot, MTV did have a very long robotic arm with a camera on it. It was capable of going out from the left side all the way into the middle o...

Re: Happy Turkey Day, Americans!
It's not like me to eat sugary things, but after eating too much succulent turkey, stuffing, squash, and Brussels sprouts, I had two different types of homemade pie (pecan and pumpkin), and some ice cream cake to boot. I went for a brisk walk, but by that time it was already too late. If you want to...

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)
These people have had a stressful, what, 48 hours?
I was kind of hoping they'd show the crazy wolf guy still being crazy and ignoring Morgan's stupid attempts to save him. He should probably get loose and kill a bunch of people, just to show how stupid Morgan is.

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)
So, did it really cut off after the tower had just started falling, or was there anything else? For instance, did they show the tower actually hitting the ground or anything like that? The version I was watched cut off just as the tower was beginning to fall over. It seemed kind of abrupt.

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)
It was pretty mediocre, and on top of that they just had to kill off the diabetic cutie. Some people must be getting annoyed with the lack of Glenn resolution. Are we still on the same day that started the season? Did the episode before the last one go beyond that day? I can't remember. I know ...

There's been some kind of serious work to his lower face. Things are suddenly looking very odd around his cheeks, chin, and upper lip. Parts of it are too plump, and look inflated and lumpy, especially in the pictures posted a couple weeks ago from the tour. These latest pics are showing some sort o...

I've never much noticed people writing or saying interpretative . My brain must automatically present it to me as interpretive, which is to say, I've interpreted interpretative as interpretive. Nevertheless, interpretative seems to be in all of the major dictionaries. The first search result I get f...

Re: What's annoying you today?
More funny than annoying, but my work schedule changed due to Veteran's Day, and apparently this disoriented me to the point that I was convinced that today (Saturday) was Sunday. I went so far as to put out my trash and recycling as I normally would on a Sunday. I had to stealthily go and retrieve ...

Absolutely horrendous. Like something I'd hear in a mall while picking up some cheap socks.
On the plus side, they did a pretty good job of making an utterly soulless piece of shiny plastic pop rock, and there seems to be a demand for such material.

Re: Was Perry a fraud from the start?
That Miami show was pretty cool, but it reminded me that Dave had the worst guitar tone (even accounting for the mediocre audience audio recording) back then. It sounds like he's playing a Japanese Gibson SG copy through a cheap transistor distortion stomp box out of a boom box. I disagree. That sp...

Re: Was Perry a fraud from the start?
I say no, because I don't think Perry was a complete fraud from the start. It's a somewhat complicated question, as most of us probably now perceive Perry as always having been avaricious, egotistical, and a bit of a pain in the ass to many of the people around him (and I think that's an accurate re...

I'm blanking on who can currently still bring it (any genre) after several years/decades, but there has to be. I saw Robert Plant in September and he still sounds great. Others who are in Perry's age group or older who still sound good (in my opinion) Paul Weller Bruce Springsteen Madonna Kate Bush...
