Re: Classic Girl in Fear the Walking Dead

Larry's right, the show's garbage and that song should have been kept sacred, or at least more sacred than that. All I can say is that Perry (et al) couldn't have known quite how badly this unimaginative spinoff cash grab was going to turn out. To be fair, a character in the parent show sings a Tom ...

Re: Fear the Walking Dead

It was a mistake and should be cancelled after this short season. It won't be, but it should be. Hopefully it doesn't stick around too long, because stunningly inept cash grabs shouldn't be rewarded.

Eh, well, the last two were the best. They had the most going on, though naturally some of it was lame.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO)

Some dude from Downtown Abbey will be playing Sam's dad. I'm tired of Jon Snow. I'm more excited about the new actors like Richard E. Grant and Max Von Sydow. James Faulkner has the stern, cold, asshole-dad thing down, so the casting makes sense. He could be like a less-cuddly version of Tywin Lann...

Re: What's annoying you today?

Shit Goddamn. I just spent over an hour typing a thorough account of what led up to this situation. When I hit submit,it asked me to log in again, and the whole thing was lost. I've been there. Sounds like a shitty situation. I've got plenty of pain, believe me. I've also been unkind to my liver, t...

Re: What's annoying you today?

They drained 5.1 litres. I don't look like I'm pregnant anymore. And there's room for my lungs to expand, and for food. And getting that huge needle stuck through your abdominal wall is no less nerve wracking and scary after you've already had it done several times. :yikes: I hope you have a speedy...

Re: Fear the Walking Dead

Yes, I don't like or care about any of these characters or their situation. Maybe that fat kid with the knife will turn out to be a good survivalist or something like that. As for the other people, even with what will have to be some extreme character development in the face of a zombie apocalypse, ...

We've enjoyed a brief respite, but a new heatwave approaches. Summer is not content to quit the scene without one final kick to the nuts.

Re: Fear the Walking Dead

Anyway, I still think this should be merged with the other thread, just because it seems silly (and messy) having multiple threads on our tiny little board dealing with the same zombie TV franchise. :noclue: :conf: they are two different shows. better call saul has its own thread. you are just bitt...

Re: Fear the Walking Dead

I thought it was complete and utter shit. I was actually a bit surprised by how awful it was. The bar was set low, so I didn't expect much, but even going into it with low expectations I was let down. With all of the resources available to them, this is what they ended up with? Really? Good lord. I ...

Re: The Walking Dead (AMC)

Finally time for some more junk food garbage. For a series with so much filler it's pretty funny that they've created a spin-off. The material/concept was spread thin as it was, but there was a lot of money in it — so here we are. The risk is that peak zombie saturation and a reduced focus on the or...

Re: What's annoying you today?

I am fed up with this summer bullshit. Heat and humidity (the latter frequently hovering at or around 100%) are making it very difficult to get anything done.

I'm ready for a crisp fall and mild winter.

Deadwood (HBO)

Why didn't any of you hooplehead cocksuckers tell me that there have been talks between HBO and David Milch about a revived plan for a Deadwood HBO movie? Nothing pissed me off more than when HBO cancelled this fucking show (a tragedy in which David Milch shares some of the blame). I've been spittin...

Re: True Detective

It was a good ending. Being long was helpful. I haven't been reading anything about it, so I didn't know it was an extra half hour. I really wish we could go back and give the first season finale an extra half hour. the finale was ok....not great. it was pretty easy to guess who was going to live an...

Re: True Detective

I thought the last one (ep. 7) was relatively decent. There was some tension, the plotting was fairly coherent, and there was some good cinematography — like Ray and Ani in the motel with the fake fireplace. On the other hand, there were times when it felt like a middling network series, mostly invo...

Re: What's annoying you today?

It's been awfully hot these last couple of weeks. My skin felt like it was on fire yesterday in my house, and it's looking to be quite hot again today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that . . .
