Re: First Show Ever Thread

My first concert was with a friend and her mom in 1978 to see Shaun Cassidy. My first real concert was summer of 1980(between grade 7 + 8. I was 13) with The Who, Heart, J Geils Band, and Nash the Slash. I went with 2 friends and the odler sibling of one of them. It was in the days before noise laws...

Have you thought about what you'll be wearing to the show?

From facebook today... I would like to suggest that we all dress swank for the "Theater Of The Escapist". Reason being- this is an immersive theater experience, and you will all be with in the show. The style we are shooting for is 1920's Surrealist twisted with a dash of Warhol Pop. We may be chain...

Re: Nice article about Toronto music scene

PAGE 2.. Arrogance does not come naturally to us Canadians, but in the early aughts, there was a feeling that what we had here in Toronto was kind of special. Around 2002, downtown hipsters coined the phrase “Torontopia,” which captured the uniqueness and idealism of the city’s arts scene. To be fai...

Re: Nice article about Toronto music scene

"One of the great virtues of Toronto musicians, says Bailey, is their humility. She’s not talking about shyness or self-deprecation, but rather an acceptance that no musical form is superior to others and a realization that creativity thrives when you remain open to different sounds."

Re: tour dates so far

I'm sure with a band like Jane's though it would be surprising to find too many people much younger there. I think the average is 33+. With the exception of Hype and maybe a few on here, I don't anyone in real under the age of 30 who likes, or even knows about JA. I'm 17 and I was posting on Xiola ...

Re: Front Page News

If someone wants to coordinate an interview with anyone on behalf of the site feel free. As far as news, it just seems redundant to have it on the front page and in the forums. I'll happily tweet him a few times to try and get a response then mate. Let's see what comes of it. Think Perkana, Artemis...

I think it would be a good idea t o keep the front page au currant.

It makes the site seem more serious and professional, imo.

Re: tour dates so far

I usually don't get messed with at shows, being that I'm a well-sized guy. That being said, the only demographic that usually messes with me are small feisty females that think they can bully their way in front of me. A perfect example of this was the NINJA Tampa show. My wife, a couple of friends ...

Re: tour dates so far

I must be getting old. The thought of being in "the pit" sounds terrible to me. Any other band, yes. But the thought of sitting during a Jane's show just sounds like blasphemy to me. What attracted me to them was the chaos and punk attitude. When I finally got to see Perry perform at a Porno for Py...
