I really think it depends on how humble and open Perry is to Eric's ideas. Is Perry ok w/ Eric saying to him - we/you can do better? Jane's deserves more than writing Another Soulmate and slapping a Jane's sticker on it.

Eric knows to his core what Jane's should sound like and be.

I think its these old men saying to themselves, what the fuck are we doing here?
