Re: Earthquakes

I work in Emeryville and live in Oakland and felt both quakes today. I've felt a couple minor ones when I lived in LA but nothing like today. I was definitely a little freaked out.

Re: Desert island disc - Jane's or RHCP?

Between IWY and TGEA I'd take the Chilis. That being said neither would be a desert island disc if I were picking a short list.

Re: Axel

Axel looks terrible and sounds just as bad. I can't believe anyone actually buys tickets to see him and a band of whoever backing him up. I caught them once on the Use Your Illusion tour and while they put on a good show back then I still wished I'd see them when it was the original 5 guys. Perry de...

Re: ink or holes

Two tats. One on my right wrist which I would actually like to expand on to make it look better and one on my left inside forearm. Both are tribal designs and I'm still happy with them. Only piercings I ever had were my ears. Used to have 4 or 5 in each ear including one up near the top in the carti...

Re: WHEN it leaks...

I was waiting for the RHCP to leak and then they streamed so it really didn't matter. If more bands did that then it really doesn't matter if it leaks.

Beautiful country Larry. I've only been to Ecuador so far in South America. I'm really interested in exploring a lot more of the continent.

Re: RHCP

nice playing by Josh. I like his solo in this a lot more than that 4 note nonsense solos John used to play live I like a lot of John's sparser playing. I like when he rips too but some the low key stuff on Californication is pretty great. Totally agree about Josh too. I'm really impressed with him....

Re: RHCP

Janes + Chili Peppers 2012 North America arena tour. Place your bets. I sure hope so. That would be a perfect double bill. No way Janes would do it. It would just highlight their lack of output and artistic integrity over the last 20 years. RHCP are in the upper echelon of rock bands and Janes unfo...

My wife saw a deal online for a new camera. I went to the store and they had one in stock when it's normally an online only item. Instant gratification. :aoa:

Re: New Chris Cornell song "The Keeper"

You know, I just remember that although it wasn't on the soundtrack, Three Days was in the movie. Also, it was hearing Three Days in the movie that made me want to find out who the artist was. I was 14 at the time and thought it was Zeppelin maybe. A year later I was dating a girl and asked her if ...

Friend of mine got us tix to see A Winged Victory for the Sullen in November. He's really into them and I'm going for the hell of it. Should be pretty interesting though.

Re: New Chris Cornell song "The Keeper"

When I first hear Seasons I was blown away. That and State of Love and Trust are my favorite tracks on that record. Such an amazing soundtrack. Both PJ songs, Mother Love Bone - Chloe Dancer, Smashing Pumpkins - Drown, Alice in Chains - Would, Soundgarden - Birth Ritual... So true. I remember going...

When I saw him solo a couple months back he did a couple of songs from Scream and they sounded really good. The problem with that record is the production and not the songs.

I like it but I'm biased cause I'm a huge fan. Just saw him solo acoustic and Soundgarden recently and he's still sounding great.

First record I ever bought myself was probably a Kiss record. I loved them when I was a kid. My mom had a great record collection though so I had tons of stuff to listen to for as long as I can remember.

Kinda sounds like something for the Miami Vice soundtrack. Is that a Garageband percussion loop I hear? :hehe:
Ha I totally didn't hear it but you're so right.
