Re: Jane's - 1.5 Hour Set Length/No Recording

Just watched this clip of Twisted Tales. I don't usually get into the Perry slagging but t's lame that he isn't even really singing the recorded melody on the new tracks and the backing tracks are lame. I was pretty impressed but the setlist that was posted and was almost thinking I might check if t...

Short for Anthony and actually what most people call me in the real world. Never liked being called Tony.

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?

I watched Moneyball last night. I thought it was excellent. Howewever, I am a baseball fan which I'm sure helped me appreciate the movie more than I would have otherwise. I am not a baseball fan and I thought that was a great movie. :thumb: I just watched this on Friday night. I'm not a baseball fa...

Prince 1985 @ Nassau Coliseum in Long Island on the Purple Rain tour. ! was 13. My friend's dad got the tickets and drove us out there from NJ. Incredible show and amazing as a first real rock concert. I don't know what happened to my friend but I'm always thankful for his dad taking us to this show.

Re: First marijuana ever thread

I was 18. We were on a camping trip along the Delaware Water Gap. Some of my buddies always had weed but I had always resisted because of smoking aspect of it. This time I finally gave in. Great times sitting around the campfire and listening to music after a day of rafting. Still one of favorite th...

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?

Finally got around to seeing 'Tree of Life'. Not a fan. Too much 2001 rip off and poorly done. When that dinosaur was nice to the weaker one I was laughing. Cut back to Sean Penn sulking on an elevator. I love surrealism in all forms but this was nonsense. Should've just stuck with the 50's storyline.

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?

I cannot take Sean Penn seriously dressed up as Robert Smith.  You get used to it. You really want to hug him while watching the movie. He seems so weak but there's some strength there. This description is really perfect: "an amalgam of Dorothy Michaels from Tootsie, the Cure's Robert Sm...

Re: Resolutions

I don't think even that argument was in favour of factory farming. No sane person thinks factory farming is good. My reason for posting it was mostly just that I think it's a mistake to think pescetarian or vegetarian eating is somehow harming less animals. A good reason for not eating factory farm...

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?

Saw 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' on Christmas. I really enjoyed it. Haven't read the books or seen the Swedish film so I didn't have anything to compare it to but I thought it was really well done and the performances were all top notch. I cannot take Sean Penn seriously dressed up as Robert Smith....

Re: Resolutions

I'm going pescetarian after the new year so I'll be basically eating vegetarian+seafood. Mostly for health reasons and to try and lose some poundage but also because more and more I've been feeling bad about eating animals. I just don't think I could ever give up seafood cause I love it so. Plus you...

I saw them at the Forum on the BTW tour. I like that venue. Yeah it's in a shitty part of town but it's still small enough to not really feel like an 'arena' show. Staples is just too massive. You can't see anything from the cheap seats. Even watching a sporting event sucks there. lies! forum holds...

Re: The guitar player thread

I've got the Dunlop Hendrix Wah and it's pretty good. Not too tinny or too bassy. Nice and throaty. That being said I'd go for a VOX. Used to have one and I've played a bunch of them and they always sound good to me. If ever I'm in the market for a new Wah I'd get a VOX again.

They should play 2 shows at the Forum instead of Staples. That place is way too big. The Forum is so much better.

Thanks for sharing this Bandit. I just turned 40 this year and it's got me thinking a lot about what I've done so far with my life and what else I'd like to accomplish. I actually felt pretty good about where I am on most of those points but I definitely could do a better job of nurturing my friends...

I'm not a fan of traditional Christmas music. Too many years playing in the school band to endure another version of Sleigh Ride or Jingle Bells.

Here's one I do like.
