My girlfriend thought this sounded like Jane's Addiction

I had this great great album by manfred mann on my turntable, blaring through my speakers, and my girlfriend goes: Hey, this sounds like Jane's Addiction (hence the thread title). I thought she had a point. Could easily have been on the b side of the Ritual album What do you think? Cf5val9HfTI If yo...

Re: eric avery interview

I tried listening to deconstruction twice. Really don't understand what the fan fuzz is all about. Funny, i feel that way regarding PFP. I tried to get into them but i can't. I absolutely love the first album I fall asleep while listening to their second :noclue: De gustibus et coloribus ...

Re: Ipod on random or whole CD

I hardly ever listen to my I pod. In my car it's always full cd's. I have a 5 disc changer in my car but I never use shuffle. At home I mostly listen to vinyl and sometimes the radio. So it's always at least half an album. I tend to change a record after having listened to one half of it. It's kinda...

Creative differences, my ass. Just admit that you're broke and don't have the scratch because you spent your allowance on booze, drugs and expensive hookers. Well, i spent quite a lot on all those things, but i still have plenty to afford this studio. Going to have to jump ship on the whole Hendrix...

I too know all those sounds except the Mintz television warmer thing. I know the sounds of the picture tube and all of that but I don't recall ever having to warm the TV up.
This is the best way to have coffee:

Well, as a matter of fact, I haven't.

Re: Black Sabbath Reunion

i was a fan of some metal back in the day and have always disliked black sabbath. never did it for me. Really? You don't like Sabbath? I'm not the one to dictate what to listen to, but try to listen to Sabotage, if you haven't already. I love Ozzy's singing and voice. But a reunion and a world tour...

Cool, Sinep is my hero.

Is there some place where I can download that movie? Long time since I downloaded a movie, and it's not on demonoid.

Re: So, uh, seen any good movies lately?

I haven't seen it but a new one that's out now Martha Marcy May Marlene with Elizabeth Olsen(the Olsen twins' younger sister) is supposed to be very good. She plays a young girl who escapes a cult and crashes with her sister. The performance according to the reviews is "this year's best breakout pe...

Guns N Roses playing it at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert.

The way the crowd sings after Axl says: "let's make this one reach the heaven" sends shivers down my spine everytime I hear it.

The crowd just overpowers the band.

That is the magic of live music.

Re: Dave or Jimmy

You guys are all trippin' if you say Hendrix isn't any good. Or if Dave is better than Jimmy. Dave can't even touch the soles of Jimmy and Jimi's feet. And I'm sure that if you ask him, he'll admit that much. Jimi Hendrix is the kind of guy who can make an excellent song out of a mediocre song. List...

The MM era Fru was the second coming of the love child of Zappa/Hendrix and seeing him live especially solo he will go off. Rumor is he will be in Austin for Joe Lally's set as well in a couple weeks. As for his more recent work there was some great stuff on Inside Of Emptiness and his solo's with ...

Re: Songs Off TGEA You Like Better Than The Older Material?

I finally bought the cd today. And what I was thinking, if you mix the best songs from Strays, and the best songs from TGEA, you'd get a pretty solid Jane's Addiction album. When strays came out everybody missed the psychedelics and the layered guitars, and with TGEA everybody misses the balls to th...
