Re: POLL: What's WORSE - Another Soulmate or Hot Lava?

I love Hot Lava! It's a "cover" of a song fragment from a Season 1 episode of South Park, so it's not like Perry can really be blamed for coming up with it. It's just a fun little song. Reminds me of Kinky from Satellite Party but better. Would've gone great on a 3rd p4p album.. just a silly pop son...

Re: Perry is serious about dance music

gah. something like the latest Bowie record he might be able to pull off if he had a good Rubenesque producer guiding him (as in Rick, not a chubby person). The rave club stuff he's bent on breaking thru to pleases no one but him and his wife. Not rock fans, not dance fans.

The other day I wrote an epic blog post about my childhood, how I got into baseball, and why I don't really care about sports anymore, if anyone cares to waste some time reading it..

Can somebody post this new album cover you're talking about?

I love "The Fixer", even if it's just a catchy pop song. I also really like "You Are" from Riot Act. Oh, and love "Unemployable". It seems they always deliver with a song or two per album I can really get into.

Re: Your favorite "Eric and Handsome Mike" encounters

Once I did a tape trade with Sonny and all the tapes had an annoying buzz on them, obviously the fault of his stereo system, not the recordings. When confronted with this, he shrugged it off and did not replace the defective shows. I held a grudge for a while. In the pre-Flac days, traders/collector...

Re: Your favorite "Eric and Handsome Mike" encounters

*"Eric" needs to be edited to Erik . I'm one of the few who passes freely between the 2 boards. I dork out over uncovering previously unknown 1.0 shows/recordings, so that stuff pulls me in over there. But I'm not gonna force a fake smile when the band is sucking, which is often lately. I remember E...

Yeah, you might be confusing it with a kid named Donovan, whom Perry was a father figure to for a while, while dating his mom.

Another Soulmate - the remixes

I got all inspired by Trevor's remixes and that Dolly Parton song that was posted here recently and made some improvements to Jane's latest single. We all know how "Another Soulmate" is very reminiscent of the Beatles and the Minutemen because it's under 3 minutes, right? Well, I went about making t...

Are there any songs in there that can hold a candle to any FNM song? I've downloaded a few of those above albums and always seem to be a bit disappointed. Too heavy/horror for my taste.

I like (not love) em both. if I had to pick one today to bring to a desert island, I'd probably go with TGEA mainly because it's fresher to me. And there are no songs I hate on it (whereas I hate Wrong Girl). Though, I still stand by Colors of Earth and Plants as the best post-97 Jane's release. :du...

Damn, the 90s were awesome. Even the songs I was just kind of "meh" about I have a great fondness to hear much more now. I just went to Summerland last weekend (Everclear/Filter/Sponge/Live) and it was a pretty surreal experience. In a good way. Nice. What were the highlights? Does Live have a new ...
