Meh is exactly right. Jeez. Did we really need a totally mediocre rehash of STP without even the vocal copy-cat powers of Weiland, in 2021? This is geriatric mush for aging GenXers who've lost their teeth.

Re: Would Perry be Canceled Today?
Y'all lived long enough to become the man you hate (just like Perry). Congratulations!
A band known for gender-fluidity, hints of homoeroticism, and the vanguard of youth culture has fans who are now considered out of touch conservative loons.
No, but it must be the children who are wrong.

Re: Would Perry be Canceled Today?
Good Point. In the 80's there was Tipper Gore and maybe a handful of evangelicals. And no one paid any attention to them. Now's there's a mob that can destroy people's lives overnight. What are you old people talking about?! The Moral Majority was a huge force for evil in the 80s, from Reagan onwar...

Re: When did Perry's voice die?
I honestly prefer the balance between his rawness and his more "Strays-era" voice. So I think I love the 97-2003 period. The bootlegs from 90-91 are amazing in terms of wildneress and having that "punk spirit", but the screams were sometimes not in the right place, and his voice got strained easily...

maybe one of the worst songs ever recorded (not counting delicious grace) MN9YLLQl7gE It's a perfect example of one of those tracks you'd hear on a low-budget show on the Discovery Channel or something when they transition from one scene to another, where it's clearly written as a sound-a-like of s...

Another 28 day lockdown in Ontario effective from tomorrow. Cases going up again, younger people are being admitted with COVID to ICU. The Provincial responses to this have been incredibly stupid, especially in Alberta and Ontario. We could have dealt with this third wave by giving warehouse ...

The label that put out a first record is putting a compilation cd/vinyl and asked us for a track. Re: Coronavirus
On Page 3 of this thread I did some napkin calculations for transmission numbers over time. Interestingly, at that time back in March of last year, there were 100,000 total cases. There are now close to 100 million, and we're at about 10 months later. That's not quite as fast as I calculated, but it...

Perry sounds decent enough but he really should stop bringing Etty to the party. She adds absolutely nothing to this performance (unlike for instance Mariqueen on NIN's cover of Fashion) and as always her "dancing" looks ridiculous. Mariqueen was an excellent singer and performer before she married...

It still has to pass the Senate. If it does, then Pence becomes Prez for a couple of days and could pardon him.

Re: When did Perry's voice die?
What puzzled me was he would improve for some shows and then regress. Maybe he never learned to sing correctly from his diaphragm and not throat in a sustainable way and age took its toll on the recovery time needed between shows. :noclue: Go back and listen to the XXX record with honest ears. He's...

It's so weird for me to see people googling/reading articles about this kind of thing and trying to piece it all together, because I've seen medical safety from the inside for a decade. These articles are simplifying what actually happens and not giving a real sense of what is actually involved. It ...

The FDA, (along with, of course, WHO, etc) are no gold standard. I have clearly disputed those "specifics." Really? Where? You think the vaccines are going to work based on a total of 55K people who have gotten doses two different vaccines, where one showed protection for a seven day study period . No one has seen the actual trial data. The process has been acce...
