Re: Fairfax 1991 bootleg reissue

FWIW - the Scream show works like a charm for me, and I am on a Mac, not PC. So it may be a local issue, rather than iOS. I just trued that and another show as a test - the downloaded file unzips painlessly as a folder with the flac files.

Re: Ritual Rocktober LP re-release

It seems messy. Some stores were selling online, and now aren't. Others are still selling. Classic Jane's Addiction roll-out, even if they have nothing to do with it on this occasion. Hook in mouth, have ordered it and will see what slithers through the postbox.

Re: Ritual Rocktober LP re-release

It's interesting to see Rough Trade listing it. It looks like this is part of Rhino's Rocktober releases and is only meant to be available via brick and mortar. Most sites show it as "sold out". I am guessing they'll be readily available in person starting October 2nd, and probably should be sold on...

Re: Great Escape Artist followup

I’ve come to the conclusion that Chaney is the everything Jane’s Addiction is now—he may have even let Perry to shape it into its final form. Installing that guy and going to him repeatedly sends a message. Chaney and the band are Non threatening, capable, almost look the part, performs what’s requ...

Re: Porno for Pyros Reunion July 30th

My jaw dropped at the opening bass lines....really did not think 'I Would for You' would ever get played again, so this was a fantastic surprise. As was the fact that Perry actually delivered something. Genuinely enjoyable to listen to him. It's been a while since I can say that of a JA song. Also, ...

Had never seen these until recently....you'd think Perry had borrowed someone's clothes.

Re: Maybe the best original JA news since 2009

I'm actually tempted by the book. I have been coming across quite a lot of vintage JA photographs on Instagram recently, some of which I had never seen before, and it's been....really nice. Perhaps a strange choice of words, but it's helpful to reconnect with the memory of who and what I fell in lov...

Re: Porno for Pyros Reunion July 30th

I have been listening to GGU nonstop for the last month as some way of pacifying my need to travel, so the timing of this was particularly welcome. For me, it's the last of Perry's great work I never saw them on the tour for it, so it's always left a void. I refuse to go and see Perry perform anymor...

To have less than zero expectations of released based on a social media teaser campaign, and still end up disappointed. Bravo. #onlyperry

Ha, yes, she does. Elegance helps, rather than turning Liberace. Last saw her live in 2008 and she still had it.

Re: Up The Beach...Backstage lolla 91 Shoreline (posted 2012)

I don't know a lot about her, but I think you are spot-on about being hard to impress....by that point in time anyway (1991). Although she/they grew out of the scene (the Bromley Contingent etc.), they always seemed to march to the beat of their own drum. The way she's been so caustic over the years...

Always thought this post-show backstage footage was fascinating. They all seem in a very good mood, despite apparently hating each other by all accounts. I guess that rendition of Chip Away amped them up. Eric only has one thing to say ("that was so cool"). R4duuLTU64Q Love this - thanks. Have seen...

As fucked up as it may sound, I think Trump knows what he is doing. I know that sounds totally fucked up. It is really risky what he did, like the greatest risk of our lifetime, but the alternative was Suleimani eventually controlling the region. Respectfully, the notion to he knows what he's doing...

Yeah, and I'm freaking out. :scared: :nyrexall: Why? Why? Does that really need to be asked when you have two an imbecile on a campaign of distraction going up against a bunch of zealots? US-Iran relations have been close to or on the brink for decades, but this pushes things to the precipice - if ...

Has anyone been watching the final season? Is it any good? I guess I'll keep watching since it's the last season...why quit now? Exactly. Too vested to quit (binging) at this point - I have three episodes left to watch. The focus on peripheral characters just weakens what little plot line tha...

Actually really looking forward to it as it's at a small venue in Brum considering it's them. Will have to say "hello" - am planning to be there. Well done on the ticket situation - it was an indeed an utter mess, for me. Managed to get tickets for 2 of the three gigs I want to go to. Will have to ...

Aye...the expectations were zero as in that kind of setup, the performance was never going to sublime, especially in such a shit venue. But the whole thing will live on in the memory. TR did an excellent job, I thought. And it was nice to see the other old geezers on stage, no matter the silliness f...

It's funny....we can dissect who said what and how the mix was...whether the institution is a joke or otherwise and a million other things, but this was a pretty fucking amazing night. And keep in mind, just because someone wasn't friends with Chris doesn't mean they weren't supremely influenced by him. This was an opportunity for some relatively well known musicians to pay tribute to him. Yes, I get that. But it didn't need to be five hours of everyone who wanted to pay tribute ...

Re: Both Eric and Perry are Involved with the Chris Cornell Tribute Concert

So many mixed feelings about this event. There were some great moments, many not. Although I enjoyed it overall, the whole thing left me pretty cold as it just seemed so divorced from the artists I had known and loved for three decades. It felt more like a barometer of his legacy than a genuine trib...

Re: Both Eric and Perry are Involved with the Chris Cornell Tribute Concert

Avery on a TotD song?! Now that really would be bizarre, and for a host of reasons. I find it hard to believe that if Matt Cameron and Stone Gossard are there, that Ament wouldn't be. All of this aside from the fact that I see even less of a connection between EA and TofD and its members. Sadly, the...
