Re: R&R Docs

Watched the Bee Gees doc last night. Was actually really moved. I was born in '70, so they were the soundtrack to my early life i.e. hearing them played at home or on the radio. Was surprised at how long they'd been around--they had multiple lives--had a Beatles-esque run in the 60s, early 70s, and ...

Hard Life Easy....new single on Spotify?

Is Perry or Spotify recycling songs?

Hard Life Easy is out today as a new single. Um, Satellite Party right?

Re: Porno for Pyros Reunion July 30th

While, in the grand scheme of things, and as I look over the massive Lolla lineup, a Porno for Pyros reunion maybe isn't that big a deal for many, BUT someone could be doing more to promote it wide scale for the generation that cares---I mean, there was just a RS article about Perry releasing a box ...

Re: 2020 US Racial/Political Protests and Riots

I was at/attended the first day of protests in Seattle. Early in the day, I saw a group of white kids--16-19 in age (I guess), throw a water bottle at bike cops as the sped by. They were gleeful (as I might have been at that age), but didn't recognize how they put black and brown people at more risk...

Re: Question Re Amazon Fire TV Remote Replacement

Because of the prime app available through Apple TV, we've ceased to use our firestick and/or remote to access Prime. So, you might find a market of used remotes out there.

Dave was a special guest w/ MINISTRY last night... Go figure. I haven't kept up with Ministry for about the last decade since it looked like Al was weeks away from kicking the bucket and the band did a crappy farewell tour. He's clean now and touring a new album. Really? I was within the last 6 mon...

That was cool. It's not lost on me that the two cover bands I've heard of both are female fronted. There's one here in Seattle, too.

Yes. Big congrats. I look forward to it also. Do you expect U of Texas Press to have wide distribution and/or a marketing campaign for this, or is it being aimed at a more academic audience?

Wow, was the "violation" you bringing the truth to the public' eyes? They claimed that I was an employee of the state. I became a part time college instructor during my tenure as a volunteer at the prison. The part time contract is that you're paid for the time you're in the classroom and noting el...

I enjoyed it, but wasn't blown away. It had too much cute in it for my taste. I liked how Force Awakens avoided any silliness.

Re: U2

Thanks for the review, Panda. I have a love/hate relationship with this band. I remember the exact moment I heard U2 War. I might have been in 8th or 9th grade. Joshua Tree was the album my high school class ranked as #1, but it wasn't to my taste at the time. When Bono tried to convince us they wer...

I read this a night ago. Finished it in one sitting. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for bringing this to the world. Thanks. I really appreciate that. Am not a theater person, but read his poetry and prose when I was in my twenties and it did a lot to inform some of my earlier sensibilities about writing and the world. Two of the books were the Motel Chronicles and later, Cruising Paradise.

I love hearing Janes on tv and in trailers. Love it! However, what asshole decided to remake that movie! PLEASE for the love of god can Hollywood come up with new ideas. Stop making bad remakes. What's next, St Elmos Fire reboot! I agree, and then I see this, and think there's some b-movie promise ...

Is this a weird question. Has anybody ever listened to/ watched a band for a period of time that they really don't like? And although you may still not like them, or the music, you've found the whole experience very interesting and worthwhile? Not so much a band, but there have been songs by bands ...

Re: Joanie Cunningham is dead

I watched Happy Days as a kid. Likely both when it was one weekly and after in syndication. I vaguely remember anticipating what this Joanie Loves Chachi thing might be. Did they own a restaurant, or a bar? I was young, but was struck that the show didn't seem grounded in the late 50s as Happy Days ...

I'm not even sure Perry came up with the name originally. I think he credits a manager in some past video.
