Re: Berlin

On the aussie english thing... the few times i've been to Canada, they always know i'm english (and generally get quite excited - maybe that's me more than the accent!). The first time i went to New York however, they couldn't make their mind up whether i was a brit or an aussie! I don't have any re...

OK, it is a Nothing's Shocking show... but tickets are just shy of £50 with fees. I won't be going. FISHBONE FISHBONE For fucks sake... I've only gone and got a ticket. Much like this band, i'm a joke. It's all Dave's fault - I read that interview about playing the songs as they should be. Plus eve...

Re: uk jane's dates

Tickets are £37.50 if you buy at the venue. £43 if you buy online with transaction fee. Do Jane's play encores at these NS gigs? I'd be hoping for Three Days and Stop. Yeah, £37.50 is face value but both venues are 100+ miles from me so not an option to walk up to the box office unfortunately. Chea...

Re: uk jane's dates

I'm surprised by the size of the venues, to be honest. I can't help but feel they'd do well to fill those venues, but perhaps I am projecting...I can't see that many people caring. Especially at those prices. And you can bet they'll be doing Reading/Leeds. Danny and Japh  Hey PB, trust you're...

Re: uk jane's dates

Yeah, i'm assuming they're gonna get added to the Reading line-up? It's either that or V and they're deffo not a V festival band. Probably having another go at Reading given they cancelled it the last second last time. I honestly need to find out if this is a NS show though... that really will make ...

Re: uk jane's dates

and the sad thing is that i'm really, really struggling to even care. I went to the last show here with dannyboy and, even though it was a decent show, I was happier at catching up with him than the gig itself.

That said, if it's a Nothings Shocking show, i probably will care.

Re: Live shows in your agenda?

Future Islands It's all about these boys right now! Can't lie, only discovered them post-Letterman but i'm totally hooked... In Evening Air is such a great record. Their London show sold out almost instantly but i may road-trip one of the other dates. Other than that, i don't have much going on gig...

Re: What's annoying you today?

You know, i came straight to this thread today as i simply wanted to write "life" and leave it at that. However, after reading some of these pet related tales, I'm actually pretty good... nothing really to grumble about at all. This thread has honestly made me grateful... and i obviously feel for yo...

Re: Live shows in your agenda?

Not too much booked in at the moment - off the top of my head, Ry X, Damien Jurado and Pearl Jam. Might grab tix to see The Orwells but that whole scene looks a little too young to an old guy like me nowadays.

Re: Up The Beach sampled in rap song

Zach is a big part of them giving their music away he is very pro-fan (hell they made legit tapes and handed them out to people at a loss). I agree that whole ordeal makes them (Zach and co) look bad though. But on the bright side they did fuck a major labor out of a lot of money, so at least 1988 ...

Re: Up The Beach sampled in rap song

I don't know if this has ever been posted, the album came out in 2011. Death Grips uses Up The Beach on the first song of their first album. I never listened to them before and I heard a song off the money store that made me want to look into them more. The song is called Beware and the album is ca...

Love those pics Artemis! What a top looking bird that is - very handsome. We don't get too much in the way of such vibrant coloured birds here in the UK.

Oh wow, Indie Cindy is KILLER! How the hell do they put a belter like that together now... they have zero right at this stage (or so you would think). I've played the clip about a zillion times in the past couple of days.

This thread finally got interesting. Hoka's comment about non-americans on page 60 is pretty much the 1st time i've ever read a line on here and thought "cunt". well it was a response to this :noclue: You're the stereotype who makes foreigners incorrectly assume that all Americans are loud mouth id...

Fleetwood Mac later this month, then a whole load of smaller shows through Autumn... Local Natives, Phosphorescent (a couple of times) and a fucking awesome Danish band called Pinkunoizu. I'm working on adding a few more as there ain't much to do in the wintry old UK other than catch shows!

Purely because it's like 1am or something here in lovely old England and i'm losing my mind!!! It's too bloody sad that you and i both suspect that a change of 2 songs or more is pretty much not gonna happen. Sure it can happen. They can drop 3 Days and Jane says and cut it down to a 9 song set. :l...
