Re: Live shows in your agenda?
Caught Beck in Brixton last month. I've seen him a ton of times since '94 and it's great to see that he's back to his best performance wise - definitely had a lull a few years back after some injury or other. The past 2 shows i've seen have been the 2 sides of Beck's musical output... the first was ...

Re: Ticket for kentish town
So, this was the first Jane's London show in ages that i've missed... and missed through choice rather than circumstance. It's a week since the show now and it simply hasn't crossed my mind - doesn't look as though i missed out on anything either. What did amuse me through last week was that i saw o...

Re: European tour??
Hey jgp - good to hear from you! Cool bonus with Download... even i wouldn't have an issue with walking from one stage to another! It was just the whole mix for me... lack of enthusiasm, a monday in the smoke, ticket price etc. A little surprised at myself for passing on Ritual but there you go... g...

Re: European tour??
Nose very clean! I really, really hope you get a GREAT show... I don't expect it but maybe they'll all be in super moods and nail that shit down! Hell, even Etty might give it a miss and watch from the back. I know I'll be bugged come Monday night, particularly as i haven't missed a London show for ...

Re: European tour??
Will anyone be going to the Forum gig.....? Silly question, thought not. No... to be honest, the gig hasn't even crossed my mind since it was initially announced. I know i should just forget all the current shit and acknowledge the record for what it is but I just don't believe that they care - so ...

Got to say, i thought it was boring... crap even. I watched it on catch-up and fast forwarded some of the bits. To be honest though, i'm only really in it for the white walkers.

Re: Prince has died at 57
Proper gutted with this one - what an artist. My wife is a huge fan, absolutely loves him. Saw him a bunch of times and his songs are still on in the house pretty frequently... my kids like loads of his songs. But then again, who doesn't.

Fuuuck. I'd totally go see Dino. Yeah, got to admit that as soon as i saw the tour info last week, i was straight onto Dino's website to make sure they couldn't turn up as support to the UK Forum show in June. Thankfully they're in Germany otherwise i'd have had to go the tout route to get a ticket...

Re: Sports Most Hated
HATED SPORTS - Baseball (wtf is the fascination?), Golf, Snooker, Horse-racing. Not in that order cos I REALLY hate golf. HATED TEAMS - sticking to (proper) football, I don't really hate any teams exactly. It's more that i hate certain aspects of a team... usually the fans or the current manager. On...

Re: European tour??
I can't believe they are still getting booked. They've had their chances being a relevant band, still today. However, they completely blew it. I was at the Kentish Town Forum for their show in 2003(?) I believe it was Chris Cheney's first gig with Janes. Pretty good show, and The Bays doing doing s...

Re: European tour??
I was interested for a second, even if it was London. But it's a fucking Monday night. FFS. Same... it's even on the right side of the river for me but just can't get stoked for it. Quite a few rarely played songs are on that record but, like we all know, there's no guarantee that they'll even play...

Re: Animal Collective - Painting With (New Album)
Huge disappointment. I'm actually thinking of returning the ticket I bought for their show in Manchester, and maybe getting tickets for Tame Impala instead. This is nothing like Animal Collective. They're one of the headliners at a festival i'm going to in September. Not sure what to expect from th...

Yes to this band... great fun live. Seen them a bunch of times and seeing them again in a few weeks. Debut album came out recently and it's got a great surfy twang on a couple of tunes.tvrec wrote:HINDS

Calvin Harris is MASSIVE in the UK... I honestly didn't know he was big enough across the pond to headline but there you go. As for LCD Soundsystem, fuck yeah - what a band. Seen them a couple of times before and really hope there's a UK tour in the offing - they usually tour with one of my favourit...

Saw it tonight - totally loved it. New characters are generally excellent and the overall vibe of it was bang on originals. Kylo Ren is awesome... hope he gets more bad-ass (i'm guessing he didnt kick it).

The order is 5,4,6,3,2,1. No arguments. I assume that's order of excellence, not in which to view... Correct! Japhy, yeh I've not got prebooked tickets either. Will wait until the new year I think. I have a son who's more into Micecraft than Star Wars... My daughter is well into Minecraft bu...

Agree with the 5, 4, 6 bit in regards to excellence although I love all 3 and don't really like to choose! 1, 2 and 3 simply don't exist as far as i'm concerned.....

Re: Where we're born, versus where we're supposed to be
Born on the south coast of the UK and lived there until my folks went through one hell of a messy break-up. Long story short, ended up on the eastern side of the country and struggled to feel 'at home' throughout my late teens and early-mid twenties. What ultimately changed everything for me was (pr...

I'm not even remotely clever enough to contribute to these kind of discussions! Whenever it all goes off on other threads, i try to keep up by googling every second word but lose the will pretty quickly... If it's not related to music, skateboarding or... or... no, pretty much just those two, I'm no...

Yeah i liked SYTBS a lot... a couple of the demo's were even better than what ended up on record. I get what KV means with the "uh-oh" because i was a bit like that too... more around some of the interviews he was doing at the time though. All this recent stuff, EDM or whatever we're calling it... ...

Re: Is there any way back for Jane's?
It's over rover. If Ritual shows make it to the UK, I'll go because i "have to" if you know what i mean... i'd almost feel duty bound. However, i have no interest in new music from them or anything like that. Maybe i echo what a couple of folk have already said... the odd live show release would be ...

Thats funny i was just talking about Dick Dale with my father. I have seen him a couple of times and he stills blows people away. My father saw a free show in 1965 at El Camino College in the south bay, the Beach Boys with dick dale opening. Imagine how amazing that would of been. :thumb: Holy shit...
