It doesnt matter who you are, or where youre from, or when you were born..anyone with an ear that appreciates music will chose lava as the better song. And yet you and I probably are both here because Jane's is/was one of the most important bands of all time for us and absolutely love NS and Ritual...

I think SYTBS is pretty great. Of course, Good God's Urge is a A+ album to me, so SYTBS can easily be held in high regard in my eyes since they have a similar spiritual/earthy vibe. SYTBS was on in the background constantly when I read through the Scar Tissue book.

I love Hot Lava! It's a "cover" of a song fragment from a Season 1 episode of South Park, so it's not like Perry can really be blamed for coming up with it. It's just a fun little song.
