Re: First Show Ever Thread

February 11, 1998: U2 PopMart Tour in Santiago de Chile. At that time, I knew a handful of U2 songs (One, Even Better, Lemon, Numb, Stay, HTKK) + Pop. When they played Mysterious Ways I was like "wow, these guys play that song?". Incredible breathtaking show, specially for a 13 year old. I saw this...

Nothing's Shocking. Surfer Rosa, Nunsexmunkrock (Nina Hagen), Burning From The Inside (Bauhaus), Ende Neu (Einstuerzende Neubauten), Everybody's in Show-Biz (Kinks)... are generally my top six (ignoring retardedly popular albums that everyone kinda likes, like Sergeant Peppers or Houses of the Holy...

Like I said in another thread.

Michael Jackson in 92.

Werchter festival grounds, went with the older brother of my neighbourhood friend.

Got the tix for free, and I believe my mom drove us.

Excellent show all round

Re: The sexy song thread

That "girl you move me" is a good one. :thumb: I give that a try. About Deloused: it has all these nice little slower intermezzos, the incredible voice of Cedric Bixler whatever his whole name is and then the crazy speed parts. I can recommend it. I know the album very well. Love listening...

Re: Megaupload shutdown, execs arrested

The internet gave people all over the world a loud voice where they could finally fight the powers of governments, police, and giant corporations. All of that is now at risk. This is the point, isn't it? It's just manipulation on their part. They're doing it in China already, monitoring the content...

Music, when having sex: Slow and romantic - Chris Cornell's Euphoria Morning Fast and dirty - always love The Mars Volta's Deloused or somethnig QOTSA Seriously? You listen to the Mars Volta while having sex? I think my girlfriend wouldn't appreciate that. But, to each their own ... I wouldn't have...

The beginning is psychedelic (which is also very good), then the sexyness starts.

Please give this a go, excellent song

This, a classic, and what a groove, thanks to the Meters

I really love(d) the Peppers. Up and incl. OHM but i cannot get into anything they've done after that. :noclue: It's not only that i don't like it which is always a matter of personal taste but i think it's just lazy mediocre radio music - and they could do better i suppose. My thoughts exactly! I ...

Re: "Theatre of the Escapists" setlist speculation

The Peppers routinely do an old song. They play Me and My Friends once in a blue moon, but that's about it, no? Don't really know, I don't really follow them anymore. I saw em on the Californication tour, and the only old song they played was me and my friends. They didn't even play that anymore wh...

Re: "Theatre of the Escapists" setlist speculation

I've said many times before that Perry has said they "know the songs that work well live" and they stick to them. Mt. Song, Ocean Size, Jane Says and Aint no Right are not coming off the set list. Of course they're not going to remove these particular songs from their set list; it's no brainer (esp...

Re: "Theatre of the Escapists" setlist speculation

I will never understand why they don't do any deep cuts (or songs fans want) . It shows signs of a weak live band. Ironically, because they were once one of the best live bands. Tons of bands do a special old song, yet Jane's really doesn't. It's a bummer. Well, they are seeing the fallout of it. I...

It has come to the point that I am glad there are no european dates yet, so i can check early enough what they have to offer this year. Yeah, i'm cool with this too... it will be interesting to see how the performances pan out. So far, I think it all bodes fairly well... extensive dates on the east...
