Him performing with Jane’s is more integral to the live performance ( I also suspect it might come with more freedom Jane playing ? ) generally it might be more fun as a musician But Jane's plays the same 10 songs every night. I wouldn't call that freedom. with Pearl Jam he gets to play 25-30 songs...

If Dave isn't fully stoked just move on and start the Josh era. I just don't see Josh giving up what is essentially a full time gig with Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder, where he has unlimited creative freedom to play various instruments and songs, to become "the guy" with Jane's that only does a smattering...

Honestly if Dave isn't there, you guys will probably be better off.

The show I saw with Troy and Josh was the best Jane's show I had seen since Jubilee back in 2001.

They just bring that dirty garage band vibe back to their sound. It's what Jane's should be.
