Re: Lollapalooza is a Full Go

Yes, better line up for us, born in the 70/80's.

I like them and would go see them: but Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins etc all had their heyday over 20 years ago (more like 25 years ago) ...

Re: Lollapalooza is a Full Go

What's striking is that there are not a lot of true headliners, the ones that attract real big crowds.

Just a lot of bands. So to be able to appeal to as many people as possible

Is this because of corona, or just of how music/Festivals is/are evolving?

Do we even care at this point? If you consider their subpar output over the years. This for me ... I like coming here for the talk and all that But I honestly don't care about any Jane's related news They haven't been relevant since 1991. That's 30 years ago. They won't be relevant anymore and they...

Lost my best friend. Met in '82 and bonded over a Pinto station wagon; he could drive in our sophomore year. We were soul mates and a bit of folie a deux. I was a huge fan of a particular Froosh solo and he called me from Texas backstage as Froosh commenced on it...he said hello and put the phone u...

I'm very much into this lp these days. Not as psychedelic as their other lp's, this rocks hard. It's the lp Metallica wished they made in the last 25 years. Also, the clip to Planet B is the coolest I've seen in a long time. Highly recommended OLAK5uy_m1ABaNjc7jZhb8FNXn4j9VtYZcH1zNN18 We can't see ...

Re: What new(can be old band ) music are you digging

That first cd Cypress Hill put out was a classic. Never got into them after Their third album, Temples of Boom, is one of the albums I most listened to in my teens. Never a big hip hop fan, but smoking spliffs, riding my bike and listening to that on my walkman.... Good times. Seriously, still a gr...

Jane's addiction- NS rough mix

Just read this on another forum discussing NS: I still have a cassette of rough mixes of this album that Dave Navarro gave me in 1988 I think. I remember telling him when I heard it " you realize you just played on one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded?". I still put this in my top 50. The r...

The album begins with a monumental declaration in the form of "Underground" in which Perry Farrell, despite his age, is convinced that "I am a hustler and I have never sold out the Underground", Dave Navarro charms with his twisted virtuosity and Steven Perkins drums with the charisma of the invinc...

Reminds me about this story I read (Bobbie Brown speaking) Things eventually faded out with Mark, and I was on to the next one. Dave Navarro, guitarist for Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was the first guy I felt crazy passion for since Tommy. But the first night I met him was truly ...

Re: When did Perry's voice die?

I guess it's a little bit like Maynard's early vocals with Tool. Those were unmaintainable as well. And now Tool just sounds like boring sludge. Not sure what you mean, and not to start a different discussion, but I saw Tool live last year and it was easily one of the best shows I've seen in years.

Re: When did Perry's voice die?

On relapse he still sounds great imo.

To me he still sounded ok in 2003/2004 so, that was shortly after Strays.

His voice was gone by the time Eric rejoined, when was that? 2008/2009?

So I'd say somewhere between 2003 and 2008
