Re: Phish once covered [an entire Jane's Addiction album]" - P. Ferrell

Reminds me about this story I read (Bobbie Brown speaking) Things eventually faded out with Mark, and I was on to the next one. Dave Navarro, guitarist for Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was the first guy I felt crazy passion for since Tommy. But the first night I met him was truly ...

Re: R&R Docs

That disco sucks record burning incident was also in the soundbreaking documentary (very highly recommended btw).

But it was Nile Rodgers talking about it.

How that (indeed racist) incident destroyed Chic's career

Re: When did Perry's voice die?

I guess it's a little bit like Maynard's early vocals with Tool. Those were unmaintainable as well. And now Tool just sounds like boring sludge. Not sure what you mean, and not to start a different discussion, but I saw Tool live last year and it was easily one of the best shows I've seen in years.

Re: When did Perry's voice die?

On relapse he still sounds great imo.

To me he still sounded ok in 2003/2004 so, that was shortly after Strays.

His voice was gone by the time Eric rejoined, when was that? 2008/2009?

So I'd say somewhere between 2003 and 2008

There's an album on Janes' Spotify called Under the Ceilings

The acoustic set from 86

What's up with that?

Re: Ritual Rocktober LP re-release

Indeed!

The overall mix is just terrible, the typical 80's sound isn't helping.

Bass and drums needs to be tighter and more prominent.

It just sounds like it's recorded in a box. No air, no depth.

Killer album though, I listened to it again earlier today

Nothing's shocking needs to be remixed imo.

A remastering won't save it

Re: Who is going to win the election - Nov 3, 2020 - Biden or Trump.....?

Is anyone actually going to vote FOR Biden?

As opposed to voting AGAINST Trump?

Don't know if that will be sufficient (and I'm from Belgium, so I really don't know).

https://i.ibb.co/F4N3JPj/Rig2.jpg So, this my pedalboard. I mainly use the Bass Drive (my first and still my favourite distortion) and the B:Assmaster. Some chorus from time to time. I use the wah pedal and Phaser on one song. I recently just bought a compressor, so still learning to use that. Not ...

So here's the Ampeg Blueline and my bass guitar more in detail.

Bass guitar is a Music Man Stingray (pre ernie ball) from 1977.

I believe all original and in great shape, just had it refinished

https://i.ibb.co/s6tQ8HB/Rig.jpg So this is pretty much my bass rig now. Just the Ampeg head on the left is a replacement (my other one was in repair). So I play on an original 1969 Ampeg SVT Blueline tube amp. This is truly a museum piece; one of the first SVT's ever made (4th month of production ...

A little Tool. A little Kyuss. A little AiC.

Between these guys, the new Hum, and War on Drugs (on constant rotation), I'm listening to more rock than I have in years.

Digging this!

Re: Donald Trump running for President.

I guess Trumps diagnosis puts down next week's debate, maybe the rest of the debates if he gets seriously ill. As far as how this affects his chances of reelection, I think it can swing either way - if it turns out to be a mild case and he recovers quickly, it could bolster what he's said and many ...
