Koko, London - 30 August

#1 Post by Japhy » Thu Aug 04, 2011 5:44 am

Just want to be the first to post in this section really!

So, Koko on Tues 30th August. Not sure what i'm expecting (i know it's stupid to want Kettle Whistle for instance) but i'm sure it will be a great show either way... i'm certainly looking forward to it.

I'm not one for accurate set-lists but i'll definitely post a review... i bet you can't wait...

Anyway, Bandit, did you get a ticket in the end?

I haven't yet. I could pick one up on ebay for £60 but I still don't know if I can get the time off work! I would have to take the Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday off. I will let you know but it's looking doubtful as I'm pretty busy at the mo.

Seriously? How come... simply because it's Janes in a club... and a pretty cool Camden club at that? I totally understand but you reached the "i'm done" stage far quicker than i figured i would, and i completely get why too. I've been away for a week or so and haven't listened to any Janes during that time... i think i'm going to keep it that way until the show, just so i'm proper amped for it on the night. Trying not to think about the stage theatrics too much - i'm sure it will be girls on wires again but i'd rather have all the paraphenalia (spelling???)... dolls, beads, xmas lights etc.

They didn't play Summertime Rolls... it was Up the Beach.

Really good show as it happens but, yeah, disappointed that they didn't mix it up. There were plenty of lengthy pauses between songs but maybe that was because PF didn't feel right still.

ETTL was really fucking heavy... the only negative is that it doesn't really go anywhere - maybe it was just a little flat because a lot of the crowd didn't know it.

Ted was stand-out for me, but then it pretty much always is. Three Days was stellar and both Stop / ANR were great.

Cool. I'm surprised they played Three Days. Dunno why. What I want to know is why aren't the fans there posting on here?

Did he say much about his voice? Or if they were coming back next year?

that's something me and dannyboy were talking about last night. When you're on this board, you can easily feel like you are the Janes fan-base and there's no-one else out there. Koko was rammed with a good mix of old-timers, kids etc... there's plenty of Janes fans out there that just don't want to waste their days on a website!!!

No, no mention of next year or anything like that. There was some good banter though for sure... and i got to say that the dancers (etty included) looked fricking hot.
