Re: Choice 2016
If you added "None Of The Above," that choice would probably get about 75% of the votes.

Re: Choice 2016
My politics most align with Bernie, but I assume I'll be casting the vote for Hillary in November.
No republicans have voted so far. Do we have any here anyway? I just realized LJF hasn't posted in a long time (along with Chaos and ES, but this is the wrong thread for 'where the heck are they?')

Re: Choice 2016
We used to have a some Republicans...Bishop,skorb,LJF, Lucifer, and a couple of others I don't remember now. Or, maybe they were Libertarian??farrellgirl99 wrote:

Re: Choice 2016
True, I omitted that option on purpose....a low 'voter' turnout will tell that story too. But, I think it not wise; this is not the election to be apathetic about.Pandemonium wrote:If you added "None Of The Above," that choice would probably get about 75% of the votes.

Hoka's a Libertarian I think, and the repubs sometimes get a rough go of it here.

Re: Choice 2016
I'm a "Republican" but I definitely will not voting party line for President...I used to be a "Democrat" but have more fun voting against Republicans I don't like...I was also "Independent" at one point in my 20's but not as much to vote for (or against)
It's probably all a giant waste but I've always felt better about voting against those I despise.

Re: Choice 2016
I've said it before I think, but this is the most plausible account of the value of voting in the democratic process. The fact is that most people adopt a kind of ideological affiliation with one party or the other on the basis of intuitions or upbringing, or specific concerns (religious, economic, xenophobic, etc) -- and most of the time these numbers are fairly predictable, which is why Mitt Romney wasn't exactly wrong to make that comment about 47.5% (or whatever number) of voters being beyond sway. Most ideological leftists will vote democrat regardless of who the candidate, and vice versa. But voters who vote against what they think are bad candidates, regardless of party affiliation, are unpredictable, and more useful for democratic change. It's probably all a giant waste but I've always felt better about voting against those I despise.
It's not a waste. Elections are about maintaining political stability even when there is widespread disagreement. Participating in that isn't about getting your way. It's just about maintaining the institution of voting as the mechanism of endorsing political power. Without voting, you'd just have a straight aristocracy or plutocracy or tyranny, and any time there was a major disagreement, you'd risk a civil war.
Re: Choice 2016
or if you don't vote you have no business complaining lol
Re: Choice 2016
AP is reporting that Hilary Clinton has enough delegates now to win the nomination. I don't know if this is official though.

It could be trolls...or not...
I was 15 in 1990...Jane's stood to me as a band because they promoted questioning authority, anti-government, care for the environment, interracial love, embracing femininity, alternative lifestyles, sexual liberation, freedom of speech, etc.
However, in the early 2000s when I started frequenting xiola.org, I was shocked to learn some of the board members had some seriously ultra-conservative views. I just assumed that people who were into Jane's were the bohemian progressive types. I guess I was naive. Anyway, I'm not sure all of the Trump votes here are a joke.

i know all muslims aren't terrorists. not all mexicans are pure shit. not all black people are gansta thug criminals
i think a global union.. global economy.. everyone working together, taking care of each other... maybe eventually speaking the same language.. is the direction he should move towards
building a wall is not a step in the right direction
a war with china isn't good either, hillary
nobody truly cares about their fellow humans, but that'd be nice.
i'm not going to vote. my vote is that it makes no difference who's president. there are more important people that already know where we're heading.
thank you, thank you very much...
