I'm Canadian. But if I was an American, I'd have voted for Bernie Sanders, given the opportunity. America is broken...the two party system continues to rule and the banks, NRA, and oil industry control the politicians. However, Trump must be stopped...no matter what. These stupid fucks who are still onboard with Sanders' "revolution", and in turn, are booing the DNC/Hillary and refusing to cast a vote for the Democrats are out of their fucking minds. The future of America hangs in the balance. People say shit like "Trump won't do half of what he says, etc" (like build a wall)...I say "Don't fucking test it".

Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

True. And among the numbers of Bernie supporters, of which I'm one, is the margin of error between hill and a madman.

While Bernie was at an event earlier today, his supporters booed him when he said that they need to support Clinton.

God, I hope the Democrats don't screw things up.

Speaking of screw ups ( ), I tried to watch Marty Walsh's speech but was too distracted by his opening:

I take it Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon still are not on good terms. (Why else would Simon be butchering Bridge Over Troubled Water right now.)
Give me strength.

I'm glad Sarah Silverman told the Bernie people they were "being ridiculous." They needed to hear it from a fellow supporter.

Jeeze, what a mess this first day is for the DNC.

And seriously, wtf is Clinton thinking immediately hiring that idiot Debbie Wasserman Shultz right after she was forced out as chairwoman due to the email scandal?

I didn't see it that way with the exception of the email scandal and subsequent appointment. It's a big deal that will have to be confronted. Too, completely ignored that will have to be addressed,is foreign policy where terror is concerned.

The last hour and a half was purposely not devoted to people already committed to a chad for hill. It was for the Bernie or bust votes. It was a good start. Michelle shined. Franken was political deconstruction to the core. Sarah was good and trump was a perfect argument against himself bolstered by a touching and powerful address by an equally powerful disabled young lady.

I watched a chunk of the convention on CSPAN. I can't stand the nonsense on the "news" stations. I wish a I could find a full list of speakers and approximate times for the full day. There were a couple of interesting/engaging people early in the day.

During prime time, I thought the speeches given by Anastasia Somoza (the young disabled girl) was moving, and Cheryl Lankford (military widow/Trump University student) was compelling. Corey Booker was good. Michelle Obama's speech (or her speech writer's  ) and her delivery was the best.

michelle was amazing. im going to miss her dignity and class in the white house.

i almost thought bernie was going to pull a ted cruz as he talked about his own campaign for the first ten minutes with no allusion to the actual nominee

I wonder if Howard Dean will scream tonight.

Poor guy, that's all people remember him for.

I was surprised to see Lena Dunham and America Ferrera this evening.

This convention is beginning to reveal a highly cohesive narrative, one that seriously reveals the bluster and imagination starved one of Cleveland.

CSPAN has the best coverage of this convention. The informational videos the campaign put together are wonderful. CNN and MSNBC have been basically pundit shows. MSNBC's coverage in particular has been abominably shamefully for what they are not airing in lieu of inane chit-chat.

I found it a little boring too. I think it's because I was distracted by how old he sounds. I guess I was expecting something a little more fiery. Also, I had to keep reminding myself that he was speaking as HIllary's husband and not a candidate. Overall, he did a very good job of getting the point across that Hillary has worked for social issues since her student days, and that she's a focused hard worker.
