Re: Politics
Highly unlikely. Despite the fact he got convicted on all 30+ felonies, they are all low level offenses. Trump will probably have to pay a huge fine, get probation and maybe do some sort of community service. The goal here was to smear Trump (note: allowing Stormy Daniels to testify in explicit detail about their tryst) and be able to say to voters he's a convicted felon. Mission accomplished, although it remains to be seen just how much that affects his chances in Nov. Also, he'll certainly appeal the verdict.
The real cases in which he could do time is the classified documents case (although Biden should also be up on charges for the same thing) and the Georgie election subversion case, but even those are on shaky ground thanks to various appeals, prosecutorial misconduct, etc.
All said, we are in uncharted territory and the political weaponization of the justice system and the very real possibility of Trump getting a 2nd term is just the tip of the iceberg as this country continues it's downward spiral into banana republic territory and possible civil war.

Only if Biden dies...

Cognitive dissonance may be blown for 90% of the media, but not his inner circle. No way democrats entertain a hostile takeover.

Re: Politics
Dems are in a panic after last weeks disastrous debate performance. Although it would be nearly unfathomable how hard it will be to simply swap Biden for another candidate during the Dem convention - ballots, fundraising money, etc. Tons of rules. Plus likely lawsuits. There are differing factions in the Dem party and it likely will rear its ugly head at the convention in Chicago.
This would be very tricky for variety of reasons. For one, Biden's wife Jill has had tremendous influence. She likes it and doesn't want to give it up. And thanks to identity/diversity politics, Democrats have painted themselves into a corner with VP Kamala Harris. Biden had to give the VP to a woman of color. So he did despite her being an idiot in way over her head. Whether right or wrong, she is number 2 at this moment. She has been number 2 for 3 years. She should for all intents and purposes be the replacement but won't because she is a a DEI hire. So if the Dems go out and disregard her and replace him with someone like Gavin Newsom, a white heterosexual male its going to cause some waves within the Dem voter base. That would add fuel to the argument that blacks are just taken for granted by the Democratic party. Now granted the Democrats would be correct in not letting her be the nominee but its all about optics.
If Biden and Trump go forward with the next two debates, I'd bet the "rules" will be a lot different after Joe's Lost In Space performance. Biden basically (and spectacularly) confirmed every negative point his critics have been hammering him about. I don't see how he can do another debate without notes/script, an earpiece, a favorable live audience and perhaps his wife next to him with her hand up his ass. I'm not only amazed how badly he came off but how strongly the media which is typically in the Dems pocket are really hammering him this week.
Even falling back to his "Angry Joe" persona at his rally today didn't look good when he had his wife up there basically saying "you are good little boy Joe, you answered all the questions like a big boy, I am so proud of you!" like she was talking to her 6 year old who remembered a friends birthday.
My gut feeling is "something" is going to happen in the next couple months, whether it's Biden being pushed out or dropping out under whatever pretenses or some kind of "wag the dog" type event to draw the publics attention away from the impending election for the next 4 months. Remember, Biden himself was reluctant to run in 2020 and I believe even said that he was expecting to be a one term President who's main purpose was to keep Trump from a second term.
It's a sad commentary on this country and what our two-party political system has devolved into that Trump and Biden are the choices this election cycle and pretty much anyone else who gets a mention is not much better.

Re: Politics
Clooney is out..... gauntlet has been dropped.
It is a little surprising the level of dissonance the debate has sparked among steadfast pro-Biden pols and public. Wasn't it clear it would come to this prior to the debate?
I guess it will remain to be seen how far out the tide will go in exposing the DNC/Biden Camp and whatever the behind the scenes apparatus is that is keeping him in place.

omg... There's a good insurance policy for Trump not to be bumped out one way or another once he's elected.
