Yup, this is secondary news here in most newspapers. I'd say it's pretty weird; according to witnesses, a truck suddenly blocked the way of the car this girl was in (along with her brother). He stopped and made a quick maneuver to avoid this truck, thinking they could be assassins, kidnappers or thieves (he has said that the same thing had happened just last week). As he was driving in reverse, trying to begin their escape, there was one shot, then 5 more successive shots, 3 of which landed on the girl. That's when he stopped, and these 'policemen' said that they shot because they were trying to escape.
But what kind of cops decide to block the way of a car just to check something? Unless these kids were already running away from them for some yet unknown reason.
Two weeks ago, a guy in the southern part of Chile was killed by cops because they though he was trying to avoid a police control. It turns out he wasn't the bank robber they were looking for, but just some 19 year old kid. There were NO news about it, because he wasn't the son of some big shot.
The Chilean government's reaction to this incident has been very vanilla so far. "We believe these police practices are questionable and should be eradicated."
The Government of Venezuela has "promised a strong punishment for those found responsible."
They are all stupid fuckheads anyway: both governments, their diplomats, their leaders, those kids were most likely spoiled little shits, sons of a crooked businessman who most likely was threatened by creditors or something. I don't know, personally I don't really care about this death. It's just very discouraging knowing that everybody surrounding this event are ineffective and crooked stupid assholes.
