That made me laugh out loud, luckily I'm alone in the meeting room which in 12 mins will be filled with people, some of which are very serious.Pandemonium wrote:....Guys, I'm 56.... I was probably having a stroke when I originally replied to Clickie's post......

I live in South Florida so I socialise with people in there eighties and nineties all the time. 56 years old is pretty young.
Re: Movies from 80s/90s
Is JFK any good? I was thinking about watching it but its 3 hours long.
Re: Movies from 80s/90s
Seen 72/75... missing Toy Soldiers, Krull and Elephant Man. Some total belters in that list and i've been introducing my kids to some of them over the past couple of years. The ones that they've absolutely loved are Big, Flight of the Navigator and Bill & Ted. Throughout Big, neither kid moved an inch!

I don't know what a 'belter' is, hopefully that is good if you are showing them to your kids.Japhy wrote:Seen 72/75... missing Toy Soldiers, Krull and Elephant Man. Your kids have some really good taste. Those three (+goonies) were far and away my favorites as a kid, I remember being mesmerized by them.
They really sparked a sense of wonder, awe and adventure in me.

Haha! Yeah, sorry... a belter is definitely something positive! I think i'll remember them watching Big as long as i live. It was near xmas and i was painting the kitchen ceiling whilst the wife was making dinner (not sure how that combination never ended in disaster) and we plonked them both down in front of the telly to keep them occupied... oh my... they were absolutely rooted to the spot for however long that movie is. I think your word 'awe' sums up what happened to them!mockbee wrote: I don't know what a 'belter' is, hopefully that is good if you are showing them to your kids.

Re: Bill & Ted... my daughter still quotes it endlessly and based a school history project on it! I've always loved The Goonies too... but my wife LOVES it! She's not bad some of the time I guess

The Elephant Man is an excellent movie. Probably my favorite David Lynch film.Japhy wrote:Seen 72/75... missing Toy Soldiers, Krull and Elephant Man. It doesn't seem to be David Lynch's version? I mean, I didn't recognize the cover. David Lynch's Elephant man was in black and whitePandemonium wrote:The Elephant Man is an excellent movie. Yeah, I don't get why they used that particular obscure poster for that image but it's definitely the B/W movie.Mescal wrote:It doesn't seem to be David Lynch's version? I mean, I didn't recognize the cover. David Lynch's Elephant man was in black and white

Re: Movies from 80s/90s
I thought it was good until I found out how much of it was fabricated by Oliver Stone...clickie wrote:Is JFK any good? I was thinking about watching it but its 3 hours long.

shit that was hard!
The only one I knew I got correct was the missed test in Ferris Buellers. And sort of sure about the Clue, Big and Breakfast Club questions.
I would not have been surprised if I got 1 out of 15.
Re: Movies from 80s/90s
I didn't like it. I watched it once but I have never watched it again. Just like Schindler's List.clickie wrote:Is JFK any good? I was thinking about watching it but its 3 hours long.
8 out of 15...I guessed most of them. But I'm glad I knew the answer to the Splash question. I must have seen that movie a zillion times as a kid.
Re: Movies from 80s/90s
I thought Schindler's List was great. Been years since I've seen it.
