I like a lot of John's sparser playing. I like when he rips too but some the low key stuff on Californication is pretty great. Totally agree about Josh too. I'm really impressed with him. I read the article one the guitar magazines and he said for basic tracking he used almost exactly the same set up as John. He's even into a lot of the same pedals. He does seem to be carrying in a similar style to John but with his own voice. I thought I read that they recorded a ton of song again like for SA. Can't wait to hear what didn't make the record. Some of my favorite Chilis tracks are the b-sides.

"Did I Let You Know" reminds me a lot of this old song by Living Colour:

LC is one of my favorite alltimers, and I've heard SOY a million times....never would have stitched those two together, but I do see the resemblance now.

Chilis on TV in the UK. Little interview and performance of Raindance Maggie. Don't think much of Kiedis's look right now...we can bitch on Perry about all his Liberace suits, but at least he doesn't have an ugly moustache...

Anthony looks a million times cooler than Perry these days. At least he doesn't prance/glide around the stage like a ballerina/fairy and give these creepy gay grandpa smiles at people in the audience.

Keidis just looks like a sleaze ball...not hard for a junkie who's bedded TONS of women.

Which is very hipster/contemporary. Like it or not, he's not out of touch. I personally like it.

Did I say it was a bad thing? I don't care how he dresses, the new album is awesome and as far as I'm concerned that is mostly what its about. He wears his look well. I think he should start dressing like Val Kilmer did in Wonderland and REALLY rock the part.

I'm glad the Peppers have put out a respectable album for the point in the career they're in and silenced the naysayers who didn't think they'd survive without Frusciante...Navarro in RHCP and Flea in Jane's are why you won't see JA opening for em...

Keep your money...
Considering the history of the bands I just don't see Perry being good with opening for them...if they packaged them equally as was done with NIN/JA then maybe...but aside from the money I don't know...money talks though...we'll see, but think about it...in all the years both bands have been around have they ever played together more than a handful of times if ever??? Why would it make any sense to start now? :noclue:

If they're asked to do it I think they will. Perry's ego aint gonna like it but it's too much money for them to say no to. I still think they wont get asked at all though

Ak isn't going to have a relapsing dn on a tour. Not to mention what has become of the band. Had ea remained, there would have been a slight possibility. Plus pf has a bad history with people from back in the day who do him favors. Ask Trent and or ea

Ain't gonna happen.

I just think it wouldn't be pretty and with those bands its best they not tour together.

I saw the new album for sale at the checkout at Whole Foods, alongside the Glee soundtrack and some kids album about a dog.

I like the album.

I've listened to it probably over 10 times now and I'll give it a 7/10.

It's pretty much what I expected and wanted out of it. The standard Chili Pepper formula had grown stale over the years so I am happy to have Josh on-board. On some songs he keeps it totally RHCP-ish and mimics John perfectly, while on other songs he lets Flea take the forefront while he chills in the background doing atmospheric guitar (which Josh is really good at). These guys are old now, and I don't expect much out of them. It seems they are aging gracefully. The only song I really don't care for is "Happiness Loves Company". Anthony's vocals continue to improve. Not a good singer by any means but he definitely has improved with each album.

I think AK's mustache is just fine.
