The new song "Copy Of A" and the rearranged "Sanctified" with a vastly scaled down, sparse stage production:

The last few songs of the show:

For better or worse, this is much closer to Trent/NIN in '90 than anything he's done up 'til now. (pre)Judging from some of the other clips already on YouTube, many of the older songs have simplified almost casio synth/drum machine arrangements.

Trent is just continuing a movement to abolish sleevery. Suns out, guns out

I just wanted to add, that version of Sanctified blows goats. What's with replacing the best thing about the song, which is the original bassline? It's like changing the bassline to Mountain Song to the one used in Van Halen's "Runnin' With The Devil."

Thread should be titled 'NIN'

which pretty much shows it up for what it is from the jump: A fake NIN thread in all ways inferior to the OFFICIAL NIN THREAD RIGHT HERE, DOODS: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1889

I refuse to participate any longer in this doppleganging punk-bitch of a NIN thread. And everyone knows if there's no NYRexall in a NIN thread, it ain't really a NIN thread :noclue: :balls: :hehe:

Another new song, "Disappointed." Not thrilled with the minimalistic late 70s/early 80's New Wave Kraftwerk knock-off direction of the new songs. Also, the roadie with the spotlight throwing shapes on the wall is annoying as fuck. It was distracting back when Bono did it with The Edge when U2 played Bullet The Blue Sky live in the '80's.

I am posting this new Gary Numan song here because it sort of reminds me of NIN.

I dig it.

I saw Gary Numan in concert about 12 years ago or so, and I have to say, he did not disappoint live. He's worth checking out live if you haven't already. I think he will be playing some dates with NIN on this tour too.

Yeah, I like that tune quite a bit and the clips I've heard of the rest of the album lead me to believe he's doing NIN better than Trent these days.

NIN is doing a *secret* club show here in LA on 9/3 at the Troubadour which holds about 600 people. The catch is you can only "win" tickets through KROQ.

OK, I given the new album a week's worth of listening before farting out my opinion. I will say that listening to the actual cd especially on decent headphones makes a world of difference but I still hold to my initial opinion that this is at the bottom of NIN's catalog. Only songs I'll likely continue listening to are Copy Of A, Satellite and I Would For You. The rest is either just not my cup of tea or at worst, just plain terrible (Everything).

you know you could have posted your review in any of the other threads on the board and it would have been on topic.

I meant to post some Van Halen bullshit here but old age is creeping up on me.

It is by far the most boring tour he's ever done. I walked out of the Tension show about 3/4 into it.

Yeah, I don't regret opting to blow off this tour. Apparently the LA show will be released in it's entirety on dvd/Blu-ray in early April but based on the stuff being shown, I'm not even sure I will spring for the disc. About the only thing I can pick out that's a major (new) positive from this tour is Pino Palladia's bass playing.

I do wish I had made it to one of the LA area Pearl Jam shows though. That turned out to be a really tough ticket and I didn't want to spend the extra bucks getting a floor GA off a reseller.
