I agree this woman does sort of sound like a young Kate Bush. Pretty good, imo.. :thumb:
ALEX WINSTON

“Velvet Elvis”

“When I feel your velvet/ I can’t help it/ Hold your frame/ Whisper your name . . .” It is probably asking too much for anyone to pay sincere homage to the figure Presley cut in the years leading up to his death, so this non-ironic tribute to the most famous article of kitsch Elvis inspired is probably as close as anyone is going to get. Coming off like a young Kate Bush, this 21-year-old from Detroit makes object fetishization sound downright sweet. (From Velvet Elvis EP)

It's weird she grew up in the same town as me, went to high school with many of my friends, we ran in fairly overlapping circles; it's hard for me to take it seriously, since I remember her as a Rebecca Black type without the fame.. glad to see someone from 'round the block making it, though.

well, looks like she is doing all right. if you look on her myspace page, you'll see she has a number of dates booked in the UK and a show in berlin.

Neat little pop tune. Although probably due to my pervy little brain, it sounds like the focus of the tune is vag, masturbation and that time of the month.

BTW, no one tops Kate Bush. No one.

I've liked Kate Bush since highschool.
She was way ahead of her time in every way including using new technology. I think she was the first to use the Fairlight synthesizer.

This is one of my fave songs...
