Yeah, we watched episode 2 last night and I said to my wife "wow, look at Brendan Frasier" and she didn't believe me! I had to pull up proof on my phone to show her while we were watching. Time has not been kind. Overall good episode.

he is playing quite the creepy dude but i really don't think it's too much of a stretch for him.

i know i am discriminating against my age group but it was more appealing when noah was hooking up with the hot, young allison. maybe the french woman will grow on me?? i'm sure noah will still sleep with a few students, allison and his ex before the season is over though.

I liked episode 3 the least so far - okay I hated it. Looking forward to episode 4 (looks like an Allison/Cole storyline).

I started to watch this last week and am nearing the end of season 2 no. I like it. I like that it feels like a balanced story over more than 1 season. So often you see a good first season with only crap after that.

This season hasn't been bad, my wife and I have been watching. Not something we need to see but when the kids are sleeping we'll catch up on the last 2 episodes. I really like the way the story is told, like in the last episode. Noah was a dick for Alison's 1/2, then even more of a dick with his whole "we both watched loved ones die" manipulation but Brendan Fraser is an abusive guard and he's haunted by him and I'm all "whoa, I wonder where this is going" when 10 minutes earlier I'm thinking "fuck this soap opera".

I am late in the thread to be joining in, but have limited hopes (and expectations) for S3. S2 tried really hard, and ended up being really rather weak vs. S1 (which was fantastic, IMHO). It's time for them to give up on this; and a mere 10 episodes for this series already seems too much....can't say I am in a hurry to watch its demise.

I think season 1 & 2 were alright but now they are dragging the story. Like that Branden Fraser storyline is just filler.

I'm interested enough to keep watching but, overall, I am disappointed with this season.

I expect there will be more to the Brendan Fraser storyline other than he is just a crazy person. I mean there has to be some sort of twist there - or maybe I'm being too optimistic.

Excellent episode last night! Best one of the season, imo.

JANUARY 09, 2017 1:55pm PT by Lacey Rose
'The Affair' Renewed for Season 4 at Showtime

As part of Showtime’s Television Critics Association winter press tour presentation, the network announced it had ordered a fourth season of the drama. The news comes three weeks before the show's third season finale.

Famous for its he-said, she-said narrative device, the series stars Ruth Wilson, Dominic West, Joshua Jackson and Maura Tierney. The drama delivered ratings, as well as awards cache, right out of the gate, earning a Golden Globe best drama statue in its premiere season.

More recently, the series from Sarah Treem has faced backlash from key critics and is no longer an awards frontrunner. First-run telecasts garner just over 1 million viewers in their first three days of viewing.

The Affair joins series including Billions, Homeland and Ray Donovan, as well as upcoming entries I’m Dying Up Here and Twin Peaks, on Showtime’s schedule.

Even though I prefer the Cole/Alison episodes this last one was great. I like crazy, guilt ridden Noah

i feel like im watching a different show than everyone lol. i hate this season!

i think my unbridled hatred for noah and helen just really take me out of the narrative. i also think theyve just turned this show into something completely different that im not really down with.

I'm 1/2 way through the finale and I'm bored as fuck. Why do I care about the French girl and Noah in France. I also hate that Noah is normal now. He's such a dick I was digging the crazy, stalked by Brendan Fraser, stabbing himself in the neck Noah. Now Noah's narrative started and it's also in France, this sucks...

yup, that was terrible. one of the worst season finales ive ever seen.

ill probably watch next season because i want to see how much further it can sink, but if i was a sensible human, i would stop now. i hated this season.

the only ones worth watching are allison and cole and they were pretty much sidelined this whole season barring a few episodes. noah needs to be written out of the show.

Agree with all of the above comments- shitty season!

The finale was lame. I thought it was strange that the writers would devote half an episode of the season finale to Juliette, a minor, undeveloped character. How ridiculous is it that Noah bumps into his daughter in Paris and rescues her from the awful,Furkat? Though I was happy that Noah and his daughter reconnected, I don't feel that this redeems Noah;he's still a selfish, terrible person.

Lol, he happened to stumble upon his daughter in that small town of Paris! Great point, my overall hatred of that episode had me overlook that stupidity.

I actually liked some of this season. I liked crazy Noah. He's such a dick that watching him go crazy was fun. I hate how the finale essentially swept it under the rug....he's normal now and saving his daughter and that stupid fucking eye contact with Helen from outside as she's at the Christmas tree in the window was super lame. I liked the Alison/Cole storyline but it was not showcased enough.

The Affair has been over. They're stretching out a story that's been told already. Some things worked this season, a lot didn't.

The most important thing that happened was Helen's confession and it wasn't even addressed in the finale. :banghead: It felt like we missed some episodes in between...how could Noah be on the floor in a mess after realizing he knifed himself and suddenly healthy and sane and in Paris? Not to mention Alison/cole and the fact that they slept together...too many loose ends this season, it was a disjointed mess. They just glossed over it all and showed Helen and Vic with the kids by the Christmas tree enjoying a cozy holiday like nothing ever happened. And are Helen's parents still locked in the panic room?
