Yeah, no mention of him to my knowledge.Romeo wrote:Did anyone say "this is for you Scott"? Anything?
I mean fuck, he was a member of Camp Freddy for a bit...
Third Eye Blind did a nice rendition of "Interstate Love Song" the night after his death. And Stephan Jenkins passionately yelled out "Scott Weiland: Rest In Peace" at the end of the song.

Chris Cornell dedicates "Say Hello 2 Heaven" to Weiland.
Re: Another Scott Weiland "supergroup"
I never cared for Weiland and I'm not sure why I read his ex's letter, but it was beautiful and spot on.

I never cared for him as an artist...but I have compassion for who he was as a person and his struggles. He needed serious help.

A friend was there both nights and he said of night one, "They started with an STP song and the first words on stage were "this is for you, Scott". There was another song later and several mentions. "
Also he said it was a pretty subdued (both crowd and band) the first night. I'm sure they were saddened by the loss but the second night he said they were more energetic.

This interview is very informative about Scott's life (and troubles). I generally like Howard Stern...but he takes it a bit too far in this interview. There are parts that are really hard to watch.
Re: Another Scott Weiland "supergroup"
I remember that interview. But I prefer not to listen to it again, it's too sad. I'd rather remember Scott as the really cool and smart guy he used to be before the damage was done
Re: Another Scott Weiland "supergroup"
My favorite Scott/Stern interview was from back in 1998. When Stern had the E! show. Scott was on promoting 12BB. His eyes were like saucers and he blinked probably 2 times in 20 minutes. He was chewing gum like his life depended on that stick of gum.Tyler Durden wrote:This interview is very informative about Scott's life (and troubles). Howard asked if he was clean. Scott SWEARS up and down he was clean......3 days later he was busted by the NYPD on lower east side copping dope. its' definitely one of those funny/not funny things

You know Samuel Beckett book "Waiting for Godot"?SR wrote:Getting back to the letter, I think it really shows the disconnect between addicts, alcoholics, victims of mental illness and their families. Someone should write a book "Waiting for Weiland"
Everyone was either waiting for him to actually show up, get clean, get help, be present, be on time. People just got sick of waiting.
Someone on FB that worked with him in the past (producer, behind the scenes) said when he was sober he was focused, hard working, funny. But in the last few years.....not so much.

Re: Another Scott Weiland "supergroup"
I'm a little ashamed to admit this...but when it made the news Scott that was first arrested on drug charges in the mid 90s, I thought it was a PR stunt. Seriously...given how STP were considered corporate rock poseurs at the time, I honestly thought his drug stuff was fabricated by management or the record company to give the band some much needed "cred" in the eyes/ears of critics and some of the public.

How long ago was that? And he's still holding a grudge? Who's the bitter one, again?
And seriously, if you're banned from someplace, why would you go back there? This is essentially a virtual social gathering - why would you want to be some place where it's been made clear you aren't wanted?
