75 Of The Most Popular Films Of 1980-1995
Here is a list of 75 of the 200 most popular films of 1980-1995 according to IMDB. From Wikipedia: "The films of the 1980s covered many genres, with hybrids crossing between multiple genres. The trend strengthened towards creating ever-larger blockbuster films, which earned more in their opening weeks than any previous film, due in part to staging releases when audiences had little else to choose."

Okay, since you opened this thread you are obviously bored, here is another poll for you:

http://www.listchallenges.com/75-of-the ... ef=Default

I thought I would totally tank this one, but actually I was surprised that I had seen so many. Actually this period aligned exactly right with my interests/age at the time and I saw most of these in the theaters. If it was 10 years later or sooner I think I would have got about 10 out of 75

I can't imagine creep or panda in the theater watching the original TMNT or Adventures in Babysitting (actually loved that movie when I was 11 )........... :lolol:

Goonies, Ferris Bueller, Flight of the Navigator, Spaceballs and Bill and Ted's.... were my all time favorite when I was 12, followed by Inner Space, Robocop and Terminator 2.

I seriously thought I was going to tank that.

It's all because of summers in middle and high school and going to the blockbuster/shit movies all the time. I bet if it shifted back 10 years, like '70-'85 you would have seen a ton more of them.

I remember liking Terminator 2 the best out of all of them for the longest (and Goonies too)

proud to say only 44.....cause there are a lot of lame horrible movies among them....People might wonder: "how does he know they're horrible when he hasn't seen them"...cause I can look at the cover and tell if a movie is horrible that's why, I'm gifted that way :flip:

I'll switch Babysitting with Mannequin since I just realized from Pandas post he mustve seen the first one listed.

You know what I didn't realise until recently? The young girl from Uncle Buck was the mom on the tv show Yes, Dear.

No, I meant 40%. You guessed ten movies pandy had not seen and four out of your ten were correct (Toy Soldiers, TMNT, Beverly hills cop 3, Dead Poets) therefore you got a hit rate of 40%.

Mind you Pandy had Toy Soldiers twice in his list so that fucks all my figures up... but I'd assumed he originally listed ten so that's what my figures were based on... but blah blah blah, i don't give a fuck any more. it's time for tea and lamingtons... nom nom nom

I get it now, you didn't see I switched these two.
It should count, it was 5 hours before panda answered.

I like to think it's closer to eleven out of ten.

I haven't seen that one sorry, so I have no frame of reference to understand whether you're making a joke at my expense or just in general. I'm not going to google it cos I don't wanna open the possibility of going to bed with tears in my eyes.

This is gold here.

I was sort of surprised by Panda's breadth of 80s/90s crappy movie watching, but not really. I just couldn't see him in the theater or at home popping in Flight of the Navigator, The Goonies, Adventures in Babysitting or TMNT. So at least I was right on most of those counts. Stand By Me is actually a really good movie, I still really like that one. ( I think, haven't seen it in a decade or two)

kv on the other hand.

Flight of the Navigator........Adventures in Babysitting.......TMNT?
How did this happen?
Younger siblings?
Nephews?
..............drugs?

This is confusing....... I thought I had this straight, but I don't. Panda only lists 8 movies that he has not seen here (Toy Soldiers listed twice,as nasea mentions) but says he has not seen 9 after Usual Suspects is counted. What is the last movie, or does Panda mean he has not seen 8 of them??????

If there is a missing one, then I would suspect it is Goonies.

I know that might be a surprising choice, but here is why:

POINT #1:......All of the movies selected for omission here by panda are boyhood coming of age movies (outside of Beverly Hills Cop 3 (tired of sequels, BHC2 was crap...understandable and TMNT - no brainer)

POINT #2:.......He really doesn't like Toy Soldiers and is very adamant about omitting it. Sean Astin is in Toy Soldiers. Panda can't stand Sean Astin. Panda refused to watch The Goonies. Though.....that was Sean Astin's debut, how would he know he hated him?

Well..... forget it. :scared: idk.

Guys, I'm 56.... I was probably having a stroke when I originally replied to Clickie's post.

But yeah, I haven't seen Goonies. About 1/2 of these movies I've seen either as movie rentals or cable/satellite over the years. The rest, er... I've bought on DVD or Blu-ray... a few on both formats over the years.
