I would suggest for a complete novice (not knowing the big reveal in V) that they are watched in 4,5,6,1,2,3 order. That's an interesting theory above, i might try it one day. I watched them all in numerical order in a day once and it felt like there was too big a gap in the stories between the prequel and original trilogies.. Like they were two independent stories with a couple of droids and an old man or two in common.blackula wrote:Sorry if it's been posted. Did anyone read the order you should watch the 6 movies? After thinking about it I totally agree, for a first timer. Episode 4 then 5. Darth Vader is Luke's father. Then you watch episode 2 and 3. They play as flashbacks after the big reveal. Then you go to Return of the Jedi to end it. Phantom Mennace is a stand alone film you can watch whenever you want.nausearockpig wrote:Yeah same. Prequel quality order: III, II, I.perkana wrote:I liked Ep III better than I for sure...

Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
My second least favorite is Return of the Jedi. As long as I can ffwd the scenes with the Ewoks, I could try to watch them in that order.

The order is 5,4,6,3,2,1.

I assume that's order of excellence, not in which to view...Bandit72 wrote:The order is 5,4,6,3,2,1.

Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
Yeah, i'm guessing that too. Agree with the 5, 4, 6 bit in regards to excellence although I love all 3 and don't really like to choose! 1, 2 and 3 simply don't exist as far as i'm concerned... complete and utter shit.nausearockpig wrote:I assume that's order of excellence, not in which to view...Bandit72 wrote:The order is 5,4,6,3,2,1.

Stoked for 7 but i don't have tix just yet. A couple of mates are doing the midnight viewing but that was too dorky, even for me. I'll be taking my kids at some point over the holiday season... whenever i need a break from the missus (or the other way round).

Japhy, yeh I've not got prebooked tickets either. Will wait until the new year I think. I have a son who's more into Micecraft than Star Wars...
Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
My daughter is well into Minecraft but she loves Star Wars too... I sort of can't believe i'm taking the kids to a Star Wars film because i totally remember going to Jedi with my mum. My son thinks he's too cool for it but i know he's excited at the same time. I so hope it isn't another fuck-up... this one HAS to be good.Bandit72 wrote:Correct!nausearockpig wrote:I assume that's order of excellence, not in which to view...Bandit72 wrote:The order is 5,4,6,3,2,1.

Fucking merchandising, now there is a SW limited edition ice cream...
Ample Hills Creamery recently announced its limited-edition Star Wars ice cream just in time for the franchise's new film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which premieres Dec. 18. The collection includes two different flavors: The Light Side, which is marshmallow ice cream with homemade crispie clusters and handmade cocoa crispies (to represent the dark side still lurking within the light), and The Dark Side, which is dark chocolate ice cream with espresso fudge brownies, cocoa crispies, and white chocolate pearls (to represent the light still hiding in the dark). So if you're on the lookout for the perfect screening snack, your search ends here.

Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
I saw it this afternoon and I think it lives up to the hype. It's everything I was hoping for and more. It actually got me more pissed off at the prequels. I always defended them in conversation as not being as bad as people say. I don't think they're good, but I thought they were over hated. I now realize I was wrong and the quality of The Force Awakens completely exposes the prequels for the shit they were. This is a Star Wars movie and it was really good. I can't wait to see it again. I'm hoping for a spoiler thread so more details can be discussed.
Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
I completely agree, it brought me back to my childhood memories. Looking forward to the next ones.
Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
8/10 makes Lucas look like a dumbass for floundering the last 3
Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
I prefered the cheesy dialogue vs. the dumb dialogue from the prequels. Really liked the new characters.
Re: Star Wars The Force Awakens
Just voted for Rey . My second choice was General Hux...
