Yeah, it was a good episode, and the cinematography is definitely good. I imagine they've got a lot of the same crew working on it. Those mountains around the house of the guy who wanted to secede from the U.S. were beautiful. That transition from night to day when Mike was sitting in his little booth was good too, especially since you saw the same car driving away as it happened, or at least that was what I saw. Maybe it's one of those "American Night" things, which is a term for filming in daylight, but adjusting brightness (and whatever else) to make it look like night. But who the hell knows with all of the fancy digital tricks they've got now. Oh, and that part last week with the brother running out to steal the paper with his space blanket under the electrical poles was done perfectly.

Aaaand also that shot through the peephole in this episode was great, though it was surely some kind of digital composite.

House of Cards S3 is too incredible right now for me to pay much attention to Better Call Saul. They've got equally good cinematography imho, though the latter allows some great outdoor/scenic shots, for obvious reasons.

so far every ep of BCS has been engaging & interesting. This is more than can be said of every episode of BB. Time will tell..

i agree. i think they are getting better. either that or the show is growing on me. bb had some bad episodes but easily the worst one was "fly" where they chased around a stupid fly all episode.

thank Bob I can't remember that one.. I do remember getting to the end of a lot of eps and saying "what the fuck was that? that fucking sucked..". that happens a lot with The Walking Dead too..... shame..

That was probably the best one yet. It was like a standalone movie about Mike.

I like the show, but it's kind of slow. I don't know if it's just because they are still doing character development, but I hope the plot picks up and Saul gets himself into all kind of wacky hijinx soon.

Well, he owns a van, right? Oh no wait... that's House of Cards. This is the one where Mork meets Mindy, right?

I enjoyed it. Mrs. Kettleman is crazy hot, emphasis on crazy. That's a dangerous combination irl.

So, finally on episode 7, I realized that Chuck(Michael McKean) is Lenny! :dunce:
For the young ones, that's Lenny & Squiggy from the Laverne & Shirley show.

I've been really enjoying the series so far. :thumb:

I've never watched The Wire. How does this compare to BB. I know of some who say it's better. Is it? Or is it just different?

So far, all the eps have been engaging and not one of them has been boring. That's a lot more than can be said for Breaking Bad. I predict Jimmy will not "become" Saul until either the last episode of this season or the first of next.

The Wire is better, the Wire is the best! You've probably heard this a thousand times by now

Do yourself a favor and watch the damn series already!

so it looks like the firm will take over the class action suit and in the previews a deal is mentioned to jim.

i bet part of the deal/payoff is that he has to change his name so he isn't in any way associated with the firm and then we get saul. :noclue:

Dammit, creep, I never watch previews because they're just spoilers, and I don't need to be convinced to watch a show the following week when I'm already eight episodes deep. Thanks for ruining everything.

Anyway, that was a fun episode. I wonder why we don't see Chuck in BB. Mike's backstory episode aside, it's a much lighter show than BB (it was originally going to be a half-hour comedy), but part of me keeps expecting something horrible to happen.

Better, solid episode. You can see Mike inching closer and closer to his introduction to Gus. How they can weave the vet into that should have some laughs. I really like Chuck's character.....it will be sad to see their separation as Saul is born.

i sound like a broken record but another great episode. poor jimmy. so it looks like he becomes saul to dissociate himself with his brother. one more left....it goes by so quick.

It really did go by quickly, especially after the long wait.

So, Hamlin would have been OK with taking Jimmy on board were it not for Chuck, and the real reason he flipped his shit at Kim was that his hands were completely tied. It's true that Jimmy was a crooked scumbag, but he'd basically reformed himself with this elder law thing. On top of that, his efforts were the only thing that got Chuck back to work at all. As far as being a real lawyer, he passed the bar exam, despite the quality of his correspondence school, which actually shows how smart he is. On top of that, he's the one came up with this case in the first place, in the course of conducting honest business. I know I'm stating the obvious, but it's sad. Chuck's a dick.
