indie/post-punk/prog with some horns thrown in? That's how I'd describe it, but maybe I suck at descriptions:

Any Alt-J fans? The couple promotional singles they've released have been great. Love the artwork, love the vibe. Also didn't realize anybody still makes music videos that clearly have a sizable budget:

I know I'm late to the game on this one. I had never listened to the album until a couple weeks ago when I randomly listened to it cover to cover, it's really great. I don't know what it is about this song in particular, but I'm blown away by it.

A fun cover for a summertime playlist:

Another fun cover (I guess this is from 1979? I had never heard it before a few days ago):

Woah.

Totally loving them. What I found really interesting with their album Meliora is all the subtle influences I heard spanning a number of bands over a number of decades. Blue Oyster Cult, Velvet Revolver, Sabbath, Maiden, Slayer, The Damned etc...

Not my type of music, but I've always been fascinated by their persona and stage show. Maybe it's because I was raised catholic? I like their cover of "here comes the sun"

I prefer this version. It's the singer and drummer from The Dandy Warhols. It's basically exactly what you'd expect them to do with it.

A new Garbage song...

Can't wait to see Gabage with Blondie on the 26th! I've never seen either of them, should be a great double bill! :aoa:

As for a not so old band, more people should listen to this band:

If you ever have the chance to see them live, please check them out. They're a killer live band.

And for the people on this board who play drums or who like drums, their drummer is incredible

More Nirvana covers! This is Racebannon, they're from Indiana and aren't active nowadays. Bands I was in used to tour with them, they were always great. "Satan's kicking your dick in" and "in the grips of light" are good albums. This is from a nirvana comp they were on, they cover a single nirvana released on touch and go, oh the guilt.

I recently discovered Custard after yeasts of ignoring them. They were pretty big in the indie scene in Australia in the nineties but for some no doubt stupid reason I refused to give them the time of day. I think they played at a lot of gigs I went to but I never once listened.... anyway now I really like their music...

If you're interested YT "Girls like that" and "Apartment". Great stuff.

Yes! I love this band... the EP that that song is from is brilliant. Another great song is Clean Slate from an earlier release. Seeing them soon, cant wait.

Instantly like this tune. Reminds me of Baby81 era. Great to hear they're still putting out solid music, new album is a day one buy. It's too bad they're not that thrilling live or I'd go see them again next February at The Fonda here in LA.

yeah, great track. Thank for posting Artie. i just saw they announced a show here in SD at the house of blues. I saw them at the fillmore in SF a while back and I thought they were great, but you better really like strobe lights if you go see them. i think they might have something against epileptics.

I'm having trouble posting the actual video through a Mobile phone..

This is probably not for anyone here but this is one of my favourite bands and I'd figure I post it anyway.

Old music from an old band...kinda the opposite of this thread...I fixed your link for you though.. screamo sure didn't have a long self life...etf's 1st wasn't so bad I guess

The "Now Playing thread" is where most people post whatever they are into...always cool to see people's tastes regardless whether they match my own

I thought it was genius. Bryan Monte is defiantly a great writer.. They worked with epitaph so the punk roots are solid... I think its an album that people should give a listen to if you're Into punk rock and modern rock.
