Caught Sharon Van Etten at Glastonbury. Never heard of her before, very impressed.

There 's like 20 m between the stage and the front row.
Very intimate setting

What do people think of Biily Eilish? I'd never heard of her until about 3 months ago. I've listened to the album and some of it is growing on me. It's like a depressed and angst ridden Lana del Rey in parts?
She's also the number 1 artist listened to on Spotify which i thought was pretty mad.

I’ve only recently fell in love with Pink Floyd’s Animals. Unbelievable.
Re: What new(can be old band ) music are you digging
Sounds like Motown + mellowed Courtney Love. Or a less intense Angel Olsen. Good stuff.
I dig this song too. I hear more of a surf influence than Motown. Good find, kv.
I checked the Horseshoe show info, $15 for three bands is a great deal! I might go, will wait closer to the date to decide.
The Horseshoe is really hit-and-miss for me. I like its smallness, but if you're not in a good spot, the sound can be really crappy. Also, because it is such a small venue, the non-stop talkers are really audible. The last couple of times I was there ,talkers ruined my enjoyment a little bit,

I saw Greg Graffin there a little while back and it was pretty great. I think for that show it was a good venue because it wasn't packed. Graffin's a big deal for people of a certain age who happen to have been in that scene. It was cool to go up and talk to him afterwards -- we talked about having PhDs.

That would have been a great show. Cool that you got to chat with him afterwards.

That's the magic of the Horseshoe. Another time, I saw some local band and kind of got a bit too tipsy. I went outside for some air after and caught the singer having a smoke. I may or may not have suggested that his drummer was terrible and he should get a new one. (I'm lucky I didn't get clocked for saying that, but I think he didn't because he realized I was drunk and also right. )
Re: What new(can be old band ) music are you digging
Reminds me of other bands I know, but I kinda like it

On repeat right now, Richard Dawson's "Jogging"
And, finally listened to the Maria Hackman record and it's damn good!
And, yeah for Larry getting into Animals. Brilliant record, especially Dave Gilmour's emotive lead work.

70s one-hit-wonder I can't believe I had never heard of until just recently when it was used in a fucking Family Guy episode and now it's all I want to listen to.
